About me and my therapy practice
ÌÇÐĹÙÍø
Hello, and welcome. I am Dr. Cindy George, a Registered Member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (USA), and qualified Clinical Supervisor. I have over 25 years of clinical experience supporting individuals, couples, and families, as well as 18 years of experience in higher education as a lecturer, supervisor, and mentor.
I believe therapy offers a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and better understand ourselves and our relationships. My approach is warm, collaborative, and respectful, providing a supportive space where clients can explore challenges, gain insight, and work towards meaningful change.
I work with adults and couples online and offer in-person sessions in London and Central Milton Keynes.
The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.
Practice description
Many of the people I work with are experiencing relationship difficulties, communication challenges, anxiety, stress, life transitions, or feelings of being stuck. Some are seeking support following a significant life event, while others want to better understand long-standing patterns that may be affecting their wellbeing or relationships.
As a therapist with specialist training in marriage, couples, and family therapy, I take a relational perspective, helping clients explore how their experiences, relationships, and environments influence their emotional wellbeing. Together, we identify strengths, develop practical strategies, and work towards lasting change.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss what has brought you to therapy. We will explore your goals, any concerns you may have, and what you hope to achieve from the therapeutic process.
I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences. The first session also gives us an opportunity to consider whether we are a good fit to work together.

About me and my therapy practice
My supervision approach is informed by the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, the Integrative Developmental Model (IDM), and the Social G.R.A.C.E.S. framework. These frameworks provide a structure for exploring clinical work, professional development, diversity, power, and context within both therapeutic and supervisory relationships. I aim to create a reflective and collaborative supervisory space that supports ethical practice, professional growth, and the development of clinical confidence.
I may also incorporate reflective competency frameworks, including SAGE, to support professional development and self-assessment within supervision. This can help supervisees identify strengths, areas for growth, and ongoing learning needs in a supportive and constructive manner.
My supervision style combines support, challenge, reflection, and accountability. Drawing from my experience as a clinician, academic, and supervisor, I encourage critical thinking, self-awareness, and evidence-informed practice while maintaining a strong focus on client welfare and ethical standards.
