I am seeking qualified psychodynamic or psychoanalytic therapists who have experienced a significant bereavement within the past 6 months to 3 years.

About the Research

This study looks at how therapists understand their experience of bereavement and how personal loss may influence their clinical work. It aims to explore therapists’ reflections on working with clients following bereavement, including any changes in emotional experience or in the therapeutic relationship. The study also considers the personal and professional sources of support therapists draw upon during this time.

Who can take part?

I am seeking participants who:

  • are qualified psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapists
  • were in practice for at least 2 years before the bereavement
  • continued working clinically at some point during their bereavement
  • experienced their bereavement 6 months to 3 years ago

What does participation involve?

Participation involves a 1 hour confidential interview conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
