Personal:  Born in the UK of working class parents, I was brought up in a Hindu Bengali Brahmin family, which valued education (even for girls!), culture, justice, faith and an open mind to make sense of the world. Now in my 50s, with an earlier care鈥�

In challenging times, it can feel easier to turn away from our pain and to ignore what feels broken within us. Sometimes, it may even seem like the only way to keep going. But often, what we avoid doesn鈥檛 disappear. Instead, it waits, wanting to be s鈥�
