About me and my therapy practice
Why choose me?
As a 糖心官网 accredited integrative and relational individual therapist, my supervisory approach is to have an individualised, considered and above all, caring response to my supervisees鈥 work and their practice. I begin every supervision session with a mental wellbeing check in. I believe you as a counsellor, need not only a reflective space, but an emotionally safe space also and a chance to talk about you. Please tell me how you are! Due to my current role working as Counselling Service Lead for NHS frontline workers, I have extensive experience of working with depression, anxiety, childhood/adult abuse and have specialist training in trauma and PTSD and have supervised counsellor groups, individual therapists, healthcare clinicians and managers.
I also work as a group supervisor for a charity that offers low cost therapy to women in the local area. I support trainee therapists to provide ethical and effective counselling to women struggling with trauma, menopause, health conditions, relationship difficulties, fertility related issues, pregnancy challenges, abuse, depression, anxiety and stress.
Safety
You may be working independently in private practice or for an organisation, either way, it's important that you don't feel isolated so my aim is to be as encouraging and supportive as I can be. I work to the 糖心官网's ethical framework and while you bear the primary responsibility of your client work, I will ensure your practice adheres to a recognised, safe and ethical standard and at times, adopting a more directive approach when required.

Practice description
How I work
I work purposefully and empathically with you to build a trusting relationship that challenges, nurtures and supports, alongside developing your confidence, knowledge and abilities in providing effective and ethical counselling to clients. I respect your training, level of experience and in-depth knowledge of your own clients and offer you time to reflect on what is happening in the therapeutic space. We will explore together any issues that you may wish to bring, be that around client work, personal development or work-related issues. For qualified therapists, I can also support you with the 糖心官网 accreditation process.
Style
Supervision is integrative, combining person-centred, psychodynamic and gestalt theories as well as cognitive behavioural techniques but as Carl Jung says, 鈥淜now all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul.鈥 and I concur. The relationship between supervisor and supervisee is incredibly important and building that relationship is essential for me to deliver successful and effective supervision. I believe and have been told, I'm very easy to talk to and supervision sessions can be fun and light when needed! Connection is key.
Trauma trained
To support your work with clients who have experienced trauma, supervision can focus on specific interventions such as the internal family systems approach and regulating the nervous system with polyvagal theory. This flexible and relational style allows me to be adaptable and work with a variety of modalities and counselling practitioner styles.
Supervision model
There are a variety of models of supervision in use today. One of the most common is Hawkins and Shohet鈥檚 Seven-Eyed Model, and this is the core model I adopt. However, I offer flexibility and creativity in the approach used, adapting it to meet the need and preferences of each supervisee.

About me and my therapy practice
Compassionate, Collaborative, Change-Focussed Therapy for Women with Anxiety, ADHD and Trauma.
I work with women experiencing anxiety, burnout, trauma, complex trauma, ADHD, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, perfectionism, relationship difficulties and the emotional exhaustion that comes from always putting everyone else first.
Is this you? Perhaps you鈥檙e the woman everyone relies on.
You keep going, keep achieving and keep looking after everyone else, yet inside you鈥檙e anxious, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted. You find it difficult to switch off, feel guilty putting yourself first and rarely feel able to truly rest.
Many of the women I work with have spent years adapting to meet the needs of others. They have become experts at over-functioning, people-pleasing and carrying responsibilities that were never meant to be theirs. Over time, these ways of coping can become so familiar that it鈥檚 difficult to separate who you really are from who you had to become.
Together we鈥檒l become curious about what your anxiety, overwhelm or emotional exhaustion might be communicating as I believe symptoms are vital information. We will explore the experiences, relationships and survival strategies that shaped you, helping you reconnect with yourself and create lasting, meaningful change.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative and grounded in the belief that insight and action go hand in hand. We work at depth to identify the root of your struggles, explore wounding and insecurities in attachment relationships, use a trauma informed approach to soothe a frayed nervous system and plan small committed actions to move you towards the person you would like to be. I offer EMDR as a stand alone treatment or weaved into our sessions.
If you鈥檙e looking for an experienced and professionally accredited therapist who offers warmth, curiosity and compassionate challenge and you鈥檙e ready to understand yourself more deeply while creating meaningful change, I would be delighted to support you.

Experience
Alongside my private practice, I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety and burnout. As the former Clinical Lead of an NHS counselling service, I led a service providing therapy, supervision and training to hundreds of NHS staff throughout and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in speech and language therapy, supporting neurodivergent children and young people, giving me a strong understanding of ADHD, autism and the lifelong impact of growing up feeling different. My work within as a therapist and group supervisor in women鈥檚 services has also given me extensive experience supporting women living with trauma, anxiety, domestic abuse, ADHD and the lasting effects of complex trauma.
I hold 糖心官网 Accredited Membership, which is the 'mark of a high-quality professional practitioner'.
I鈥檓 also a qualified clinical supervisor, working with both trainee and qualified therapists. I bring a relational and reflective approach to supervision, supporting practitioners to grow in confidence and depth. Please see my separate supervisor profile.
I鈥檓 also trained in Imago Relationship Therapy, supporting people in close relationships (couples, friends, siblings etc...). Imago focuses on increasing conscious communication, healing relational ruptures, and fostering deep empathy and understanding. I blend my couples training and experience into my work with individuals as it gives me greater depth and understanding of how we relate in all the different types of relationships.
