About me and my therapy practice
Counselling is an individual process. A chance to stop, take time and think about what is happening to you now and how the experiences that have happened to you impact your life and relationships.
Trauma affects our entire bodies. It makes our minds focus on the unhelpful and it finds a home within our whole being. The process of counselling is an exploration of how we think, feel act and use ourselves physically.
My particular interest is in Women’s mental and physical health around pregnancy, motherhood and menopause and how late diagnosis neurodivergence affects life and relationships.
My experience working with addictions is extensive and i have contacts with local and private services in Cambridgeshire and across the UK.
Having personal and professional experience of working with cancer diagnosis i can offer cancer support throughout the process. Through this work i have assisted people through palliative and end of life care helping individuals and families with this stage of life.
I’ve worked as postural stability instructor and ballet teacher so I am aware of how the body moves under stress. Our work will involve exercise and breathing techniques to relax the body.
I have had 20 years experience of working in the therapeutic world. I have been head of community substance misuse service, a mental health trainer and also extensive experience with neurodivergent children and adults. I have also worked with the LBGTQI community and within Child and Adolescent services across Eastern England.
Working in a person centred, Psychodynamically informed way, at your pace, I offer encouragement to try postural and breathing techniques and other self care that may be useful in getting to know your whole self.
I look forward to the journey with you.
