About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor and am also qualified to practice yoga therapy and life coaching. I created my counselling company, Inis Ink Counselling, to be able to work with people to make their lives better.

When you feel stuck or overwhelmed, I can work with you to help you find your way and to help you make the right choices for you. In sessions, I offer support to help you understand what you want to change in your life. The sessions will also enable you to make those changes to improve your life and have the ability to cope better. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, bereavement, grief and loss, chronic illness and addictions.

I am based in central Hamilton with good links for public transport. There is also free parking available on site.

Practice description

Since I qualified as a counsellor almost 30 years ago, I have completed a wide variety of additional trainings which means my practice can be eclectic and dynamic to be able to meet your needs. My most recent diploma is in yoga therapy and this allows me to integrate mind and body techniques to explore your experiences from different perspectives if this is something you would value.

No matter what technique I use, the foundation of my practice is always person-centred and humanistic. You and your needs are at the centre of all our work together. I also offer a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach and I welcome diversity. I run a hearing-friendly practice, having worked with people with varying degrees of hearing loss for many years and have a level 2 certificate in British Sign Language (BSL).

My first session

During the first session, we will discuss what brought you to counselling or therapy and what you would like to achieve from your sessions. We will also go over a contract that will ensure we both understand what to expect from each other throughout the counselling process. By the end of the first session, you will have a better idea of what working with me will feel like and can therefore make a more informed decision about how it will be best for you to proceed.
