About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about helping people with autoimmune long-term health conditions like MS, ME, CFS, FND, and Lupus to thoroughly thrive, rather than simply survive.
I work holistically, taking into account the mind, body and spirit, bearing in mind your working life, your family and relationships.
So if you are feeling anxious, stressed, low in mood, a sense of loss or even anger and frustration at your situation, then you are in the right place to get some help. Although these are very normal reactions to a horrible and difficult experience, sometimes we can get stuck in them to our own detriment.
I am here to support you to reconnect with your fighting spirit again, to find your inner strength and to rediscover hope.
Perhaps you despair of ever feeling content or happy again? Or want to just feel actively happy rather than a state of plain neutral? Then book in for a consultation with me.
The three pillars to our work is self-exploration, self-understanding and self-care.
The benefits of working with me include extensive knowledge & experience (25+ years) of working with physical and mental health conditions. As well as talking, we use outside-the-box thinking, and a range of creative methods (optional and if appropriate) that allow us to access parts of the brain normally out of consciousness. This enables us to work deeply, and make lasting change, which ultimately results in increasing your resilience levels.
I am you-centred: the work will be led by you and your goals. I work at your pace, preferring to accommodate you the person rather than try to make you fit any particular model. I want to see you succeed in your life, and that is what drives my work.
Practice description
I offer sessions in person or online. Online, they are delivered by MS Teams for your convenience.
The premises I work from has a standard doorway which is accessible via a small step. The therapy room is a mere few steps away from the front door. If you have accessibility needs in terms of mobility, please contact me to discuss specifics.
If you decide to work with me, I will send you a working agreement to read and return with your signature to indicate understanding. This agreement details the terms of the work and includes information relating to confidentialty, cancellation policy, lateness policy etc. Then a mutually convenient time & day can be booked.
When it feels like the right time to end our work, I suggest we consider having one ending session per month of working together within which we can speak about what has been achieved, what remains outstanding, give feedback to one another and say our goodbyes. A longer finishing period may be needed if we have worked together for longer than 6 months. We can decide together what feels right.
I encourage you to speak openly and transparently with me about anything and everything so that we are both on the same page. I foster a relationship rooted in trust.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer Transpersonal Integrative supervision to counsellors in training or those fully qualified.
I have been providing supervision for about 20 years, both via organisations and privately.
I bring in different modalities that can include the psychodynamic, object relations, client centred, TA, gestalt, CBT, attachment theory, solution focused, and creative methodologies,
I use the client-centred approach as my foundation, so the supervisory space is very much a space for you to bring the whole of you. I believe that every part of you - including the personal part - can feed into your client work. Therefore it too can be included in supervision if you choose to bring parts of it. We will however focus on how your personal issues may be impacting your client work.
Overall, the space is there for you to bring all that impacts your work with clients so that together we can ensure that they receive the best possible service.

Practice description
You are encouraged to feel comfortable enough to bring anything to supervision.
This may be directly related to client sessions, but it may also include things that are more personal to you as I believe that we cannot compartmentalise ourselves. Given that we are integrated beings, personal matters can impact our work. Therefore I view this as 'mill for the grist'. However we will always bring the discussion back to the client and how your material may impact your work with the client. And vice versa.
Discussions about the dynamic between client and therapist, the relationship, is also suitable for discussion within supervision with me.
My integrative palette includes attachment theory, psychodynamic thinking, CBT, TA, relational and person-centred approaches. I also include a creative thought process and may suggest anything from visualisation to journalling to play-doh for ways of working with clients as well as talking therapy. But this is for you the counsellor to take or leave as you see fit - ultimately, you know your clients better than I.
Above all, supervision is your space to talk about your work, and so you are in the driving seat.
My first session
I do offer a 15min consultation - by video - to see if we feel we connect enough and feel comfortable enough together to undertake the work.
In our initial full session we will undertake a brief assessment, before you use the rest of the time to speak about your caseload or any burning issue that needs airing. All sessions are 60 minutes face to face / video time.
