About me and my therapy practice
Gretna & Online - Across the UK
I am a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø accredited counsellor with over 25 years’ experience supporting women through anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, overwhelm, life changes and times when life simply feels harder than it should.
You may be someone others rely on. You keep going, do your best, care deeply and carry a lot, often more than people realise. You look like you're coping, are capable, responsible and get on with things without fuss.
Inside, you may feel anxious, exhausted, low, overwhelmed, hard on yourself or fed up with carrying so much.
Confidence may be low. You may feel less like yourself than you used to, stretched, emotional or tired of carrying life in the same old way.
You rarely ask for help. You are more comfortable supporting other people than putting your own needs first.
You needn't be in crisis, but may know something feels difficult, heavy, repetitive or no longer works in the same way.
You may have had therapy before and understand yourself well, yet something still feels stuck, unresolved or hard to shift.
Therapy with me is warm, thoughtful, honest and deeply human. You don't need to explain yourself perfectly or hold everything together.
We can slow things down and make sense of what has been weighing on you, what keeps repeating, and why life may have started to feel harder than it should.
Understanding yourself helps to feel calmer. My work can go deeper than simply thinking and, for many women, this can feel life changing.
Confidence and self-esteem grow. Women often feel clearer, steadier and more like themselves again.
I respond to who you are and what you need, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular method or approach.
We notice emotions, patterns and what's happening in your body. Sometimes there are tears and, even in hard moments, laughter too.
I bring warmth and wisdom in a trauma-informed way.
We can work online via Zoom across the UK and, if you're local, I also offer in-person sessions.
Practice description
You may be someone who has spent a long time coping, carrying responsibility and getting on with things, yet quietly feel disconnected from yourself or aware that something no longer feels quite right.
Perhaps life feels flatter, heavier or more difficult than it used to. You may feel stuck, emotionally tired, creatively frustrated, in transition, or simply aware that old ways of coping no longer seem to work in the same way.
You do not have to arrive with everything neatly worked out.
Together, we can gently make sense of strong feelings, long-standing patterns, relationship difficulties or parts of yourself that feel confused, conflicted or hard to understand.
I work in a way that responds to who you are and what you need, rather than expecting you to fit into a programme or fixed way of working.
Many women simply appreciate having space to think, feel and understand themselves more clearly.
I also have many years of experience supporting women through difficult, painful or crisis periods, offering steady, grounded support when life feels overwhelming.
My first session
The first session is a relaxed and exploratory conversation where we meet and begin to get a sense of whether the way I work feels right for you.
There is no formal assessment process. You are welcome to bring whatever feels important, and we begin at your pace.
I will explain how I work, including practicalities such as session length, frequency, fees and confidentiality, and there will be space for you to ask any questions.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others come with a general sense that something needs attention or change. Both are welcome.
There is no pressure to commit beyond the first session. If we choose to continue, we will find a way of working together that supports depth, consistency and meaningful change.
