About me and my therapy practice

Taking the first step into therapy is not always easy. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in repeating patterns, struggling in your relationship, or finding that life has become harder to manage. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

I have 19 years' experience supporting individuals and couples through relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement, trauma, workplace pressures and significant life changes. I am Relate-trained and hold a Master's degree in Relationship Therapy, alongside further specialist training in couples work and trauma-informed practice.

Although relationships are at the heart of my practice, my work is equally about helping people develop a stronger relationship with themselves. Therapy can create the space and time for you to have different conversations with yourself and, where appropriate, with the people who matter to you.

No two people are the same, so I do not apply one therapeutic model to everyone. I work integratively, drawing on a range of evidence-informed approaches and adapting therapy to your needs, personality and goals. Together, we can make sense of recurring patterns and explore different ways of responding to yourself and others.

My role is to help you understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, so that you can make choices with greater awareness, confidence and purpose. I hope you leave therapy not only feeling heard and understood, but also with a clearer sense of the direction you want your life and relationships to take.

Practice description

Every person brings their own story, experiences and hopes for change, so I believe therapy should be shaped around the person or couple sitting in front of me. I take time to understand who you are, whether you come individually or as a couple, what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to be different.

Many people seek therapy when they feel stuck, overwhelmed or caught in patterns they no longer understand. Together, we can explore the experiences, relationships and beliefs that may be influencing how you think, feel and respond today.

My role is to help you make sense of your experiences so that you can respond with greater awareness, confidence and choice, both within yourself and in your relationships.

I work with individuals and couples facing relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, trauma, bereavement, workplace challenges, life transitions, low self-esteem and family concerns. Sessions are collaborative, respectful and tailored to your needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than following one fixed model.

Whether you are looking for short-term support around a particular issue or wish to explore longer-standing patterns in greater depth, therapy can offer a confidential space to reflect, gain new perspectives and consider meaningful change.

My aim is for you to feel understood and to leave therapy with greater clarity about yourself, your relationships and the choices available to you.

My first session

Before booking, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives you an opportunity to briefly explain what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions and consider whether working together feels right.

In the first session, I will take time to understand what is happening for you, whether you attend individually or as a couple. We will explore what has brought you to therapy, any relevant background and what you would like to be different.

There is no expectation that you explain everything immediately. The first session is an opportunity to begin making sense of your situation and to consider what may be most helpful. Where appropriate, I may also ask questions about your wellbeing and safety so that I can understand how best to support you.

Towards the end of the session, we will reflect on what we have discussed, clarify the focus of the work and decide together whether continuing feels appropriate.

My aim is for the first session to give you a clear sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable enough to continue.
