About me and my therapy practice
Welcome
My name is Mark and I am a registered and experienced therapist.
I run my own private practice under the name of MSC Counselling & Consultancy Ltd, providing a professional online counselling service to individuals and couples. I am experienced working with all age groups (online therapy can be difficult for young children), including first responders and those facing secondary trauma.
â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹My core counselling training is in the Person-Centred Approach, focusing on how experiences are internalised and often cause barriers and difficulties in our lives. I also use Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfullness, Creative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT Hypnotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as part of my practice - looking at a whole life approach rather than just focusing on the mind.
â¶Ä‹I deliver counselling online, making it accessible across the UK and have supported people travelling abroad for work or vacation. I can provide face to face counselling close to Salisbury, Wiltshire by arrangement.
â¶Ä‹â€‹I offer a free initial consultation online via Teams, Discord or Telephone, which will allow us the opportunity to discuss your needs and for you to ask any questions. Providing a good starting place to decide whether we might be a good fit to work together.
Practice description
I have experience within financial services, residential child care, family outreach, children and families support and safeguarding, domestic violence, substance misuses, and complex mental health. I regularly work alongside general practitioners, psychiatric and general hospitals, adult community mental health teams, child and adolescent mental health teams, educational settings and care providers.
My counselling experience includes helping people explore issues of:
- alcohol dependency, substance misuse and other addictions
- relationship problems, family conflict, extra-familial harm and domestic violence
- anxiety, grief, loss and change
- depression, hopelessness and suicidal ideation
- neurodivergence, ADHD, sexuality and identity issues (religion, life stage, etc)
- complex trauma, abuse and complex mental health
- difficult choices, paranoid beliefs and other presenting problems
â¶Ä‹Some areas that have stood out for me in my career so far are helping a young lady trust me as a male counsellor by exploring the impact of domestic violence, supporting a father to connect with his adopted son, working with individuals who were sexually, emotionally or physically abused during childhood and to therapeutically support a lady whose life was falling apart.
My main availability is during the evening and weekends, but I can be flexible to meet your needs if you reach out with your preferences. I am happy to provide short or long-term counselling and will review progress with you on a regular basis. I have experience using classic face to face, walking therapy, video, telephone and instant messaging models of counselling.
I use a blend of psychoeducation, creativity, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Hypnosis and EMDR in my counselling approach.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your needs and to better understand if we can work well together.
