About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples in a warm, professional, and non-judgemental environment where people can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. I have over 20 years鈥 experience working in the NHS, voluntary sector, and private practice, and I am a 糖心官网 Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have a particular interest in trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, depression, bereavement, and the effects on adults of adverse childhood experiences. I also work with neurodiversity-related difficulties, including ADHD and autism-related challenges.
My core approach is Person-Centred, so I aim to understand your experience from your perspective and I don鈥檛 judge or advise. I believe that when people feel safe, understood, and respected, they are better able to process difficult experiences, gain clarity, and move towards meaningful change.
Alongside this foundation, I integrate other evidence-informed approaches where appropriate, including EMDR, Neurofeedback, CBT-informed strategies, DBT-informed emotional regulation skills, and the Tomatis Method.
People come to therapy for different reasons. Some to explore longstanding patterns and emotional difficulties in depth, others for focused support with a specific problem or crisis. I therefore tailor therapy to the individual鈥檚 needs rather than applying a 鈥渙ne size fits all鈥 approach.
My aim is to help clients feel calmer, more emotionally resilient, and better able to cope with life鈥檚 challenges. Therapy may involve understanding patterns from the past, developing healthier coping strategies, processing traumatic memories, improving emotional regulation, or strengthening relationships and self-confidence.
I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable for you. Whether you are struggling with overwhelming emotions, relationship problems, trauma, anxiety, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide a space for reflection, healing, and change.

My first session
I offer a brief introductory telephone conversation without charge before arranging an initial appointment, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether you feel comfortable working with me.
The first session provides an opportunity for us to explore the difficulties that have brought you to therapy, discuss what you hope to achieve, and consider together what approach may be most helpful. I may ask some questions about your background, current circumstances, and previous experiences of therapy in order to build a fuller understanding of your situation.
There is no obligation to continue after the first session if you feel the approach is not right for you. I do not offer concessionary rates, but session fees and practical arrangements will be discussed clearly before therapy begins.
