About me and my therapy practice

As a therapist with over 18 years of experience, I offer a safe, confidential, and compassionate space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. My aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise your own strengths and needs, and feel more empowered to make choices that support your wellbeing.

Whether you are struggling with a particular issue, feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, or simply seeking a space to reflect and make sense of things, I will work alongside you with warmth, empathy, and respect.

I work face-to-face with adults and young people aged 16 and over, offering appointments in the Hall Green, Shirley, and Solihull areas. I also provide online counselling via Zoom for those who prefer the flexibility of remote sessions.

If you would like to get in touch, I ask that initial contact is made by email, as I am often able to respond more quickly this way. From there, we can arrange a time to talk further and discuss how counselling might be able to support you

Practice description

As a person-centred therapist, I believe this approach can be helpful for individuals of all ages, dealing with a wide range of personal issues. Many people find person-centred therapy appealing because it allows you to guide the sessions yourself, setting the pace and focus, without concern that you are being evaluated or judged in ways you are not aware of.

This non-directive style can be especially beneficial for those who have a strong desire to explore their own thoughts and feelings, and for anyone who wants to gain insight into recurring patterns of thinking or psychological habits. By creating a supportive and accepting space, person-centred counselling encourages self-discovery, personal growth, and the ability to find your own solutions.

My first session

After our initial contact, I will arrange a first session, which typically lasts between 50 minutes and one hour.

During this session, we will begin with a short assessment and take the time to discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. If we both feel that we can work well together, we will also agree on our terms of confidentiality and establish a clear contract for our work moving forward.
