About me and my therapy practice
Psy.D., M.Ed. (Psych.) Hons., M.A. C.Psych.
I work extensively in areas such as relationship breakdown; addiction recovery; suicide prevention; suicide grief; suicide survivors; trauma; domestic and family violence (DFV); parenting challenges; family conflict and narcissistic abuse.
I am a highly experienced therapist who helps people create lasting change. I am experienced in and trained to work with individuals, couples and families
My career and training has spanned clinical, counselling and systemic psychology, and I have spent more than 30 years working in hospitals, community services and private practice.
Following nearly 15 years of advanced academic training, I developed a broad and effective therapeutic approach - my ‘toolbox’ - designed with one purpose in mind: to help people get results.
Alongside my clinical work, I lecture internationally on DFV, suicide prevention and relationship dynamics, advocating for higher standards of clinical practice and earlier intervention. I am also the creator of the SOSDV8 model, developed to support frontline professionals and other gatekeepers responding to DFV situations.
I have also written accessible self-help and professional resources covering topics such as how to leave toxic relationships, how to effectively parent adult children and how to ‘weather’ and move on from the storm of relationship breakup. I also write, lecture and am trained in how to healthily make up after a broken relationship.
Whether supporting individuals, couples or families, my focus is on helping people move from crisis and conflict towards healthier relationships, stronger self-understanding and sustainable personal growth.
