About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for counselling can feel like one of the hardest steps to take. You may have been carrying difficult thoughts, feelings, or experiences on your own for some time, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply aware that something doesn't feel quite right. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and be yourself. This is your time and your space. There is no pressure to have all the answers, explain everything straight away, or share more than feels comfortable. We will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
Counselling can provide an opportunity to pause, reflect, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences, helping you make sense of what may feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to navigate. Through this process, you may develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and clarity about the changes you would like to make in your life.
At the heart of my work is the belief that feeling genuinely heard, understood, and accepted can be the foundation for meaningful change. I aim to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to explore your challenges, recognise your strengths, and discover new ways of moving forward.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches, allowing me to tailor therapy to your individual needs. Whether we are exploring past experiences, understanding present difficulties, or developing practical coping strategies, our work will be shaped around what is most helpful for you.
Whatever stage of life you are in, you will be welcomed with compassion, respect, and understanding. Together, we can create a space where healing, self-discovery, and positive change become possible.
Practice description
I offer both face-to-face and online counselling sessions, providing flexibility to access support in a way that suits your needs and lifestyle.
My practice is based in the heart of Knutsford, conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Knutsford train station. Free on-street parking is available directly outside for up to one hour, with additional paid parking located opposite the building.
Face-to-face sessions take place in a spacious, bright, and welcoming counselling room designed to provide a calm and comfortable environment where you can feel at ease. The practice is situated on the first floor and offers a private setting for our work together.
Counselling sessions are 50 therapeutic minutes in length and can be arranged on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on your needs and circumstances. Whether you choose to attend in person or online, I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
If you have any questions about the practice, accessibility, or how counselling works, please feel free to get in touch.
My first session
Your first session is a gentle introduction to counselling and a chance for us to begin getting to know each other. There is no expectation to share everything straight away; you can go at your own pace.
We will start by going through a counselling agreement, which includes confidentiality, boundaries, and how we will work together. Confidentiality means what you share stays private, apart from a few legal and ethical exceptions, which will be clearly explained.
We will also cover practical boundaries such as session times, cancellations, payment, and contact between sessions, helping to create a clear and safe structure for our work.
You will have space to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you might be hoping for, although there is no pressure to have fixed goals at this stage.
By the end of the session, we can reflect on how it felt and whether you would like to continue. The focus is simply on making sure you feel comfortable, informed, and supported.

About me and my therapy practice
I aim to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore what’s on your mind at your own pace. I understand that seeking counselling can feel daunting, and my approach is centred on empathy, respect, and understanding.
As an Integrative Counsellor with over 10 years of experience, I tailor therapy to each individual. I draw on a range of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This allows our sessions to be both reflective and practical, offering space to understand your experiences while developing strategies that support positive change in everyday life.
I have worked as an EAP Wellbeing Counsellor, supporting clients with a wide variety of emotional and psychological challenges, and I also have experience within the NHS mental health sector. These experiences have given me insight into how life circumstances, relationships, work pressures, and past experiences can impact wellbeing. I bring this understanding into our sessions with care, sensitivity, and professionalism.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to change. My focus is on creating a calm, ethical, and safe space where you feel heard, accepted, and understood. Together, we can explore your thoughts and feelings, uncover patterns, and work towards insight, resilience, and practical ways to manage life’s challenges. Every session is shaped around you and what matters most to you, with the aim of helping you feel supported, empowered, and more in control of your wellbeing.
Practice description
My practice is a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement. I work with each client in a way that is tailored to their individual needs, offering empathy, understanding, and professional guidance to support personal growth and wellbeing.
Confidentiality is central to my work. Everything shared in sessions is treated with the highest level of privacy, creating a secure environment where you can speak freely. Clear boundaries are also an important part of the therapeutic relationship, helping to ensure a consistent, professional, and respectful space for reflection and change.
I offer weekly sessions, which are client-led and open-ended. This means the focus of each session is guided by you, allowing us to work at your pace and explore what matters most in the moment. The flexibility of open-ended sessions supports deeper insight, while the regularity of weekly appointments helps build continuity and trust.
Sessions can be conducted face-to-face, online, or over the telephone, making it easier to access support in a way that suits your life and comfort level. Whether you prefer the immediacy of in-person contact or the convenience of remote sessions, the same level of care, attention, and confidentiality is maintained.
The practice aims to provide a calm, professional, and nurturing environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. By combining professional experience, evidence-based approaches, and a client-centered focus, I work to help clients develop insight, build resilience, and make meaningful changes in their lives. My goal is to create a space where you can feel safe to explore, reflect, and grow, with guidance that is compassionate, ethical, and respectful.
My first session
During our first session, we will take some time to go through a confidentiality agreement together. This helps set clear boundaries and expectations, so you can feel safe and supported in our work. It’s also an opportunity to ask any questions and understand how our sessions will run.
We will also talk about your goals—what brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. This is a collaborative process, guided by you, and allows us to work together towards outcomes that feel meaningful and helpful in your life. The focus is on what matters most to you, at a pace that feels comfortable, so you can feel heard, understood, and supported throughout our sessions.
