About me and my therapy practice

I offer psychotherapy for people who want to understand what’s really driving their patterns, not just manage symptoms, but make sense of what’s going on at a deeper level. This can support meaningful, lasting change, particularly for those navigating trauma, issues of self-worth, relationship difficulties, or fertility experiences.

Clients often come to me with anxiety, overwhelm or low mood, but underneath this we are usually working with deeper patterns shaped by trauma, life experiences, and the body’s stress response.

Many people I work with have already spent time trying to think their way out of things or push through, but still find themselves repeating the same experiences in relationships, feeling overwhelmed, or stuck in ways they can’t quite shift.

My work focuses on understanding how past experiences, relationships, and internal patterns are shaping your life now. From there, change becomes possible. Not through quick techniques, but through developing a clearer understanding of yourself and how you relate to others.

With over 30 years’ experience, I work in a way that is relational, grounded, and direct when needed. I don’t offer surface level solutions, but a space where we can properly explore what’s going on and work towards meaningful change.

Where appropriate, I can also integrate acupuncture, particularly where stress, anxiety, or trauma are held in the body as well as the mind.

As a coach I work with neurodiverse clients including specialist adhd coaching and counselling, fully DWP compliant.

I work with clients experiencing:

ongoing patterns in relationships

anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional intensity

the impact of past experiences or trauma

fertility, identity, and significant life transitions

a sense of being stuck despite insight and awareness

Part of my therapy practice includes specialist fertility counselling to support men, women and couples.

As a Barnardos trained adoption counsellor I am qualified to provide counselling to adults.

Practice description

I am an NHS trained, ÌÇÐĹÙÍø accredited integrative psychotherapist and have many years experience working with individuals and couples. This includes CBT, person centred therapy, trauma informed and psychodynamic counselling.

I am qualified to provide counselling and supervision face to face as well as telephone and video link (Zoom or Teams)

I work as a counsellor in businesses, schools and the NHS as well as a successful private practice.

My specialist training includes:

  • Fertility counselling
  • ADHD and ASD
  • Coaching
  • Adoption counselling
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Understanding who you are, identity
  • Telephone and online counselling
  • Working with couples, children, teenagers, families
  • Trauma and abuse
  • Filial Therapy (supporting parent and child together)
  • Clinical supervision

As an acupuncturist of 30 years, I have a special interest in fertility issues for both women and men and provide a tailored program of treatment and emotional support.

My work is a reflection of who I am and I am committed to learning and exploring diversity and difference which means I am aiming to create a warm welcome to all people from all backgrounds. This commitment needs to be ongoing with anti-discriminatory practice being at the heart of my service.

My first session

From our first contact be in a voicemail, email or text, my aim is to be welcoming and gentle. It's a big step to take.

I offer either face to face sessions or online. Our first session will be a mix of formalities such as paperwork (the legal bits like confidentiality and boundaries) and getting to know you. We will explore whether the way I work matches your needs and if we are a good fit; then start therapy there and then. Of course you may need to go away and think about if you want to proceed with me which is perfectly ok. It is important that therapy works for you and feels useful, that we can create a relationship of trust and safety. It may take time to get to grips with the process of counselling as we are not all great talkers and sharers of feelings!

The first session will give you a flavour of what working with me will feel like.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a supervisor for counselling students and qualified counsellors either individually or in groups. I have specialist training in fertility and adoption, providing supervision for fertility counsellors in private practice and clinic settings, as well as supporting counsellors and social workers involved in the adoption process.

I am also a supervisor within NHS settings for Macmillan nurses and palliative care teams, as well as for teachers, head teachers and boarding staff within different education settings.

Supervision provides such a welcome space for you to breathe, explore your client work, reflect and take some time to yourself. It is where you can let it all out yet feel supported and listened to without judgement.

We will review your clinical work ensuring the clients best outcomes are at the heart of the therapeutic process. It is also important that you are able to remain safe and well while working in this field as it can be challenging physically and mentally.

I am here to provide a relationship based on mutual trust and learning, helping you to stay up to date with any training needs and also celebrating the joy this work can bring.

Practice description

I am a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø accredited counsellor.

I have a Diploma in clinical supervision for individuals and groups and advanced training in working online with many years experience of supporting qualified and student counsellors

This means I can offer flexibility where you may choose face to face sessions or online...or a mix of both.

I am trained as an integrative therapist and I also hold specialist qualifications in adoption and fertility counselling which enables me to support you in your work in these areas.

I follow ÌÇÐĹÙÍø  ethics and guidelines and am happy to support students and experienced therapists.

My first session

This is our chance to get to know each other and work out if we are a good match for supervision.

I offer a free 30 minute appointment either telephone, online or face to face where you can ask me any questions and I can explain how I work and hopefully give you a sense of what supervision with me will feel like.

I welcome any email enquiries if you would like further information and also please head over to my website where you will find more details.
