About me and my therapy practice

On the outside you're the woman that everyone can rely on. You appear confident, capable and composed. People seek your advice because you're a problem solver. You've been considered a high achiever for most of your life.

What people don't see is how much pressure you put on yourself to get things right.

While everything looks good on paper, inside you never feel good enough. You replay conversations. You worry about getting things wrong, even when no one else notices.

You constantly put everyone else's needs before your own. Usually at your own expense.

Saying no feels uncomfortable, but you don't want to let people down. So you keep going, even when you're exhausted.

Over time, it's left you feeling disconnected.

You can function. You can show up at work. You keep things moving, but it feels like just going through the motions rather than being present in your life.

In your relationships, something feel off.

You might feel unseen. Or that you're giving more than you're getting, or you're unsure of how to ask for what you need without feeling guilty, needy, or asking for too much.

You want your relationships to feel easier, more balanced. Like you're not the one doing all of the heavy emotional lifting.

My approach is relational and integrative, which means I don鈥檛 see you as a list of symptoms to fix.

We look at the patterns you鈥檙e stuck in. The ones that made sense at some point in your life, but are now leaving you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or alone.

This is the work we do together.

Some of the key areas I work with include:

  • Burnout
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Childhood Trauma
  • Narcissistic Relationships
  • Emotionally Immature Parents
  • Codependency

I work with high achieving women who struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, and feeling 鈥渘ot good enough,鈥 particularly in relationships. My work focuses on healing attachment patterns and the impact of childhood trauma through online therapy across the UK and St Albans.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Especially when you're the one who holds everything together.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you come, and it's totally fine if there are more than a few tears.

My approach is relational and integrative. That means I don't just pay attention to what you're going through, but to the patterns underneath it. Especially those shaped by earlier relationships and experience.

We'll explore how those patterns show up in your day-to-day life. In your thoughts, your emotional responses, and your relationships.

At the same time, I won't just sit back and nod. I'll gently challenge you when needed and support you in finding new ways to respond, so you can feel more in control and less stuck.

We might also look at more practical tools, like help with anxiety, setting boundaries, communication, and the deeper work around self worth and emotional patterns.

The pace is led by you. Some sessions might feel reflective. Others more focused and practical, both have their place.

Over time, the aim is for you to feel more connected to yourself, clearer on your needs, and able to show up in your relationships without losing who you are.

If that sounds like what you're looking for, get in touch to book your initial consultation.

My first session

The first session is for us to get to know each other and make a collaborative plan of what you are hoping to achieve from therapy.

We may cover some of this briefly in our initial telephone consultation, but the first session is more detailed.

The first session can feel daunting if you've never experienced therapy before, but I assure you that the first session is similar to a relaxed conversation.

I do not expect you to know all of the answers and there are no awkward silences!

If you get stuck with what to say, I'll ask some relevant questions that will help you along.

Many of my clients comment that they wish they had started therapy sooner.

I'm currently offering low cost supervision as I have recently completed supervision training.

拢45 for 1.5 for online supervision or in person supervision in St Albans.

I have flexibility for monthly or fortnightly supervision for daytime or evening appointments.

About me and my therapy practice

Supervision for therapists is a space for ethical and reflective practice.

You want to feel supported and grounded in your clinical practice. That means pausing long enough to see our work, and ourselves with more clarity and compassion.

It's where we make sense and explore the subtle dynamics in our relationships with clients, and notice what our nervous system might be trying to tell us.

Good supervision doesn't just help us work better.

It helps us stay well.

Because holding space for others is meaningful, but also complex, emotional, and at times, heavy.

Supervision gives us the space to process all of that and more.

Practice description

I'm an integrative psychotherapist trained to master's level.

I began training as a therapist in 2008 and have worked within the education sector, charitable sector and private practice since 2017.

My interest areas are childhood trauma in adults and relationships

My values as a therapist is that therapists should earn a decent and resourced living so that they can provide the best care to their clients, alongside looking after themselves.

Professional development is a huge part of my ethos. Not only varied and rich CPD, but professional development as a business owner.

Many therapists were not taught about ethical marketing or how to run a business and those are the gaps that I continue to develop in.

I like to try new things to support my clients, whether it's through 1:1 therapy, group programs, podcasting or workshops. This also allows a creative outlet outside of the heavy work of trauma.

I believe in supervision that is collaborative and supportive, where you can reflect on your clinical work, without feeling like you need to have everything perfectly figured out.

At the same time, supervision should encourage reflection, and growth in your clinical practice.

If you are new to private practice and would like to manage your caseload and gain experience in how to grow your private practice, I can help.

Get in touch to book a consultation or schedule your first supervision session.

I'm available for supervision for therapists, teachers, coaches, solicitors and for those working in the helping profession.

For 6 months I will continue to offer the low cost rate of 拢45 for 1.5 of supervision.

Supervision is available online or in person in St Albans.
