Therapy for Professionals Seeking More Than Success
Hi - I'm Miriam and I work with professionals in Bristol and online who are questioning their career, relationships, lifestyle or sense of purpose.
I facilitate a process which allows clients to understand what's happening beneath the surface and help you move towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
If you are intelligent and reflective but can't seem to locate what's at the root of your discontent - I can help. We will work together to uncover new and lost dreams and ambitions and start to curate the life you actually want - not just the life you once thought you wanted.
Practice description
People often come to therapy because they are carrying questions that don’t have straightforward answers.
You might be wondering:
Why do I feel anxious when everything seems fine on paper?
Why do I keep pushing myself even though I’m exhausted?
What do I actually want from my career, relationships or future?
Why do I struggle to recognise my own needs?
Why does success not feel the way I thought it would?
How do I stop living according to other people’s expectations?
These conversations can feel vulnerable, particularly if you’ve spent much of your life being the responsible one, the achiever, or the person others rely on.
My role is not to tell you what decisions to make. Instead, I help you develop a clearer relationship with yourself, so that the choices you make feel more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.
While therapy can help reduce anxiety, low mood and feelings of overwhelm, I believe the deeper value of the work is often something else.
Over time, many clients begin to feel more connected to themselves. They become better able to recognise what they feel, what they need and what they want. They develop greater confidence in their own judgement and less reliance on old expectations, external approval or inherited ideas about what their life should look like.
The goal isn’t to become a different person.
It’s to build a life that feels more honest, more authentic and more fully your own.
A life shaped not only by what makes sense on paper, but by what genuinely matters to you.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own.
You don’t need to arrive with a clear explanation of what’s wrong or a neatly defined goal. If all you know is that something feels difficult, confusing or out of alignment, that’s enough.

My first session
In our initial free 15 minute phone conversation you can let me know why you are looking for counselling at this time and allow me to explain some basics about how I work. You will probably know quite quickly whether you would like to see me for a full initial consultation. If you do, the 50 minute session (face to face or online) will include the following:
An explanation of confidentiality in counselling
Time for you to explain what brings you to counselling
Time for me to feedback how counselling with me can help
Time to ask questions
Time to consider if we might be a good fit to work together and planning next steps either way.
