About me and my therapy practice
Having almost a decade's experience in providing in-person counselling/psychotherapy in Bathgate, West Lothian.
🌿 Counselling that honours resilience, calm, and quiet transformation
About Me
I’m a person centred counsellor who supports both children and adults through life’s challenges, changes, and emotional pressures. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to move forward. I offer a calm, steady space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to rediscover your own strength and resilience.
My approach is gentle, grounded, and respectful. I believe that healing happens quietly — through understanding, connection, and the courage to take small steps toward change. Like the starfish, we have the capacity to renew and grow, even after difficult experiences.
Practice description
How I Work
My core training is in person centred therapy, which means our work is guided by your needs and pace. Alongside this, I can integrate other approaches when they feel helpful, including:
• CBT based techniques to support practical coping and thought awareness
• Relaxation and grounding methods to ease anxiety and tension
• Art and creative expression for those who find it easier to communicate visually
• Play based approaches to help children explore feelings safely and naturally
I offer counselling in several flexible formats:
• In person sessions in a dedicated, private therapy space within my home
• Online sessions for those who prefer remote support
• Home visit sessions for clients who need therapy brought to them
• Walk and talk therapy, combining movement, nature, and reflection
This flexibility allows you to choose the environment that feels most comfortable.
Who I Work With
I work with:
• Children who may be struggling with emotions, friendships, confidence, or changes at home or school
• Teenagers navigating identity, stress, anxiety, or big feelings they’re still learning to understand
• Adults dealing with stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, or a sense of being stuck
My aim is to offer a space where every client — regardless of age — feels safe, respected, and supported.
What I Can Help With
I regularly support clients experiencing:
• Anxiety, stress, and overthinking
• Low mood or loss of motivation
• Emotional regulation difficulties
• Family or relationship challenges
• Self esteem and confidence issues
• Neurodiversity
• Suicidal Ideation
• Grief, loss, or major life changes
• Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected
You don’t need to have a clear label for what you’re going through. If something feels heavy or confusing, therapy can help.
My first session
Our first session is a gentle introduction. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. For children, I take time to build trust and explain things in a way that feels safe and age appropriate. For adults, it’s a chance to explore what’s brought you here and what you hope to gain from therapy.
There’s no pressure — just a space to see whether working together feels right.
