About me and my therapy practice
ÌÇÐĹÙÍø
Couples therapy, marriage counselling and non monogamous relationship therapy in Stroud and online.
If something isn’t working between you, I offer support to understand it and find a way forward together.
I’m a qualified and experienced individual therapist currently completing specialist training in specialising in relationship and marriage counselling, working with clients in Stroud and online across the UK. I am training on the Advanced Diploma in Relationship Psychotherapy at the NAOS Institute.
My practice is dedicated to couples and relationship therapy only; and whilst I am still in training I am offering a reduced fee.
I work with partners who want to better understand their relationship and create lasting change. You might be considering couples therapy or marriage counselling because something doesn’t feel right in your relationship right now. You may be struggling with communication, recurring conflict, emotional distance, or feeling stuck in patterns that don’t seem to shift. Difficulties with intimacy or sex in your relationship can also develop when connection breaks down. Trust may have been affected, or past trauma may be impacting your relationship in the present. Sometimes partners also seek support to separate thoughtfully.
At the heart of my work is the belief that lasting change comes from understanding the patterns in your relationship - not just managing the symptoms - and that this understanding develops in a space that feels safe, collaborative and respectful.
Practice description
ÌÇÐĹÙÍø
I offer a calm and non-judgemental space for couples and relationship counselling, where we can slow things down and explore what is happening beneath the surface. I’m a friendly therapist who will ask thoughtful questions to really understand how your relationship works. I put the relationship as the client. Together, we look not just at what you argue about, but at the emotional patterns, communication styles and relational dynamics that shape how you experience each other. If it feels right, I will also offer exercises and resources to support change.
Over time, we may explore deeper and more unconscious aspects of your relationship. In my experience, some of the most powerful moments in relationship therapy come when partners begin to recognise the patterns that are not serving them—and importantly, understand why those patterns exist. This insight supports you to make different choices and develop new ways of relating to one another.
My approach is integrative and relational, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic models with a strong focus on relationships—including the dynamic between. I’m particularly interested in how early experiences and past relationships influence how we connect, communicate and protect ourselves in the present. As this understanding develops, partners can begin to relate in more constructive and connected ways.
I also pay close attention to what happens between all of us in the room, as these interactions often reflect your wider relationship patterns and can create opportunities for change in real time.
I work with partners experiencing:
• Communication difficulties
• Repeated conflict or feeling stuck
• Emotional distance or disconnection
• Trust issues and rebuilding trust
• Relationship transitions, including separation
My first session
ÌÇÐĹÙÍø
After you have reached to me, we will book in a initial free 30 minute call / video call.
This is a chance for me to get to grips with the key areas that may be explored in therapy with you, and an overview of your relationship.
Importantly, it also gives you the time to experience what I am like as a therapist.
If we both agree we want to work together then moving forward £60 for couples/relationships (this is my reduced trainee fee).
If, after the 30 minute initial call, we feel we could work together, I will then send an agreement document about our counselling arrangement. This goes through the payment processes, missed sessions, holidays, as well as my ethical framework around confidentiality. We'll find our weekly slot and begin the work.
I offer either online, phone or face to face in Stroud, so either you'll come to a town centre location (I'll send the details once we've confirmed) or I'll send you a zoom link / phone number.
