About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome; my name is Rhiannon. I'm a relational integrative therapist based in Margate. I work both in person and online, with couples and Individuals.
You may be considering therapy for various reasons, be that relationship or sexual issues, trauma, anxiety, stress, or you may feel stuck and unable to harness your full potential. In all these instances therapy can help to unpack your difficulties and gain a new perspective and clarity on a situation.
As an integrative therapist I draw from different psychotherapeutic models, namely psychodynamic, humanistic and somatic approaches. I have 10 years experience in private practice and NHS secondary care, working with individuals presenting with a broad range of issues from anxiety and depression to more complex mental health issues, such as complex PTSD and EUPD. I have also managed counselling services for Mind and other local charitable organisations.
In addition to this, I am trained in psychosexual and relationship therapy. Here I work with couples to navigate difficulties such as conflict, emotional and sexual disconnection, poor communication and loss of trust, amongst other issues.
I offer psychosexual therapy for both couples and individuals to help address issues such as anxiety around sex, past sexual trauma, low and mist matched desire, sexual pain or feeling disconnected from your own body or from your partner.
I鈥檓 not what鈥檚 called a 鈥渂lank screen therapist鈥; I bring myself to our work, and I engage in a here-and-now dialogue with my clients. I see therapy as a collaborative process and I always encourage honest and open feedback. The strength of the relationship between myself and my clients is central to my practice. I nurture my clients trust, and create a non-judgemental, safe, supportive and open-minded space.
Practice description
My work is underpinned by my commitment to diversity and inclusion. I am a neurodivergent affirming therapist. I welcome clients from all cultures, gender identities, sexualities and relationships styles. I also work from a trauma-informed perspective, holding in mind the impact that trauma can have on relationships, emotional regulation and behavioural patterns.
