About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from carrying too much on your own?

You may be overthinking, people-pleasing, masking, grieving, recovering from trauma, or wondering why life feels harder than it seems to for others. Perhaps you have spent years trying to cope, fit in, or hold everything together, but inside you feel tired, disconnected, or unsure who you are anymore.

I offer warm, compassionate counselling in Chorley and online across the UK. My work is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming, which means I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we work together at your pace, in a way that respects your needs, communication style and way of experiencing the world.

Counselling can offer you a space to pause, breathe and begin to make sense of what is happening for you. Together, we can work towards helping you feel calmer, understand yourself more deeply, process painful experiences safely, build confidence and self-trust, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find ways to be more fully yourself.

I know therapy can feel daunting, especially if you have felt misunderstood, judged, dismissed, or as though you have had to hide parts of yourself. My aim is to offer a space where you feel heard, accepted and supported, without pressure to be anything other than who you are.

I originally trained in person-centred counselling and now work integratively, drawing on compassion-focused approaches, grounding, psychoeducation, CBT-informed strategies, EMDR and other gentle therapeutic tools where helpful.

I support adults with anxiety, trauma, bereavement, suicide bereavement, neurodivergence, self-esteem, identity, overwhelm, burnout and emotional exhaustion. Many people come to therapy not knowing exactly what is wrong — only that something feels too much, too heavy, or no longer manageable.

Sessions are available in person from Chorley/Adlington, as well as online or by telephone across the UK.

Practice description

I offer sessions from Chorley (PR6) — easily reached from Preston, Bolton, and Wigan — and online nationwide via secure video or phone.

I offer face to face, online or telephone counselling which is neurodiversity-affirming and trauma informed, to help you talk through whatever you are going through without fear of being judged or of upsetting someone. Somewhere  you can sort through the tangle in your head/life, take control of your thoughts , feel more confident in you and the decisions you make and break free from old habits.

You may well be finding it hard to find someone you’re able to open up to just from reading a few words online. Why not get in touch for an informal chat so you feel at ease when choosing me to support you during this difficult time in your life.

Sessions are confidential.

For more information please contact me for more information/any questions

I charge £60 per session which can be paid by card, bank transfer or cash.

My first session

In the first session we will discuss what I call the counselling agreement - this sets out the boundaries of how we will work together, the time frame, frequency of sessions, confidentiality etc. We will then talk about what has brought you into counselling, the things you want to work on and the things you want to achieve as well as what has and hasn't worked for you in the past. You will also be able to ask me any questions you have about counselling.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer warm, supportive and thoughtfully reflective clinical supervision for counsellors and trainee counsellors, in person in Chorley and online across the UK.

I see supervision as a collaborative relationship where you can bring your client work, your questions, your uncertainties and your strengths. It is a space to pause, think and feel into the work, to notice what may be happening for your clients and for you, and to deepen your confidence in the way you practise.

My approach is relational, compassionate and gently challenging. I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to be open and honest, without fear of judgement. Alongside exploring client work, supervision can also be a place to reflect on ethical dilemmas, professional development, self-trust and the emotional impact of the work.

My supervision is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming. I understand that people experience, process and communicate in different ways, and I value working in a way that honours this. I aim to adapt supervision to you as an individual, including your pace, communication style and way of making sense of things, so that you can feel able to show up as yourself.

I originally trained in person-centred counselling and now work integratively, drawing on additional training in EMDR, CBT, NLP, Compassion Focused Therapy and EFT. My experience includes private practice, EAP work and specialist bereavement support, including bereavement by suicide.

I offer supervision for qualified and trainee counsellors working face to face, online or by telephone. I also offer a free initial 20-minute session so we can get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
