About me and my therapy practice
My name is Sophie, and I offer therapeutic support for mental and life wellness.
I provide psychotherapy, RTT Hypnotherapy, and coaching through digital methods such as video conferencing, phone calls, and instant-messaging, delivered to your home, office, or any safe private space you choose.
I utilize a holistic approach, drawing from various therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices to tailor each session to your unique needs and goals.
I can be a consistent and presence in your life, ready to witness your experiences and guide you towards what matters most to you, especially during times when you may feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed.
With over nine years of clinical experience and more than 4,100 client hours, I am a trauma-informed Psychotherapist supporting adults and young people through emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties. I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety and related issues such as OCD and BFRBs, bereavement, grief and loss, stress, overwhelm, burnout, PMDD, and periods of significant personal transition or growth. I am committed to offering a therapeutic relationship rooted in safety, compassion, acceptance, and ethical care.
My core therapeutic style is Person-Centred counselling, and this remains at the heart of my work. This means I believe every person has the capacity to access the best version of themselves, blossom into their most authentic Self, and move towards healing. In sessions, I offer warmth, compassion, and acceptance so you can explore your experiences openly, at your own pace, and in a way that feels safe and supportive.
Practice description
In practice, I work integratively, drawing from a range of therapeutic and psychological approaches because I believe no one model fits everyone. I individualise therapy specifically to each person, with the basis of our work being the relationship we build together and what you need from me. Rather than focusing only on changing behaviours or thoughts, I aim to support the development of the whole person.
My work is trauma-informed, which means that, where possible, we seek to understand and heal the root of the symptoms you may be experiencing, such as anxiety, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, or patterns that feel difficult to shift. Any tools or strategies I offer are used in line with current understanding and best practice, with care taken not to re-traumatise.
The closest descriptor for my approach is Depth Psychology. This means we may explore the unconscious, your inner world, and the many layers of influence that have shaped you, with the aim of supporting integration, alignment with your Self, and liberation from distress. Depending on your needs, I may draw on somatic and relational practices, systemic and psychodynamic perspectives, Jungian concepts, cognitive-behavioural strategies, and Internal Family Systems-informed work, as well as acceptance and commitment methods.
Clients often describe sessions as grounding, collaborative, and gently paced to support both insight and emotional regulation. Progress may be reflected in many ways: feeling more balanced, grounded, embodied, capable, motivated, calm, connected to yourself, having clarity, and able to move towards a life that feels more manageable, fulfilling, and authentically yours.
I am neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ friendly, and I am happy to use the pronouns you prefer.
I have worked in support services since 2012 and am passionate about sharing my skills and knowledge to help others with whatever they are struggling with.
I want every client to walk away knowing they can create their own destiny.
My first session
The first session is charged at the rate of your other sessions as it lasts as long as any other full session. I have found that this works better because people tend to find themselves relaxing and want to speak more but then the time does not permit if it is a short initial session. I find this unethical because my client will have opened up and then has to leave, so I choose not to work this way.
I endeavour to provide as much information as necessary before the session so that my client is comfortable and has a good enough idea of what it would be like to work with me. I have also found that people who are really adamant about a short "introductory session" are not actually ready for therapy according to Person-Centred theory. I provide a free 10-minute telephone consultation as I am always happy to answer a question over the phone or online if there is any prior query or trepidation, perhaps due to anxiety or nerves of speaking with someone new.
What is the booking process for sessions?
Submit an enquiry via the contact page - include the service you want, your availability for sessions/when the best times and days are for you, and how soon you wanted to start so that I can offer you the most appropriate time slot to make arranging a session go smoother and more quickly.
I will reply to your enquiry asap & provide you with answers to any specific question you may have asked & send you the therapeutic contract for you to read through before proceeding. I will not be able to proceed unless this is sent back completed. To do so, select "Annotate" on the PDF & "type text" or "Draw", & "sign" appropriately, Save & email back.
After your payment has been received, I will send you the appropriate session attendance details.
During the first session your therapy goals or aims are set in accordance with what you disclose, and your therapy journey has begun!
