I offer face to face sessions in a private home setting. I also offer sessions online too, or a hybrid depending on your circumstances.
About me and my therapy practice
We all have a unique experience of life which sometimes requires processing in order to be able to shape our futures more positively. I offer professional support through a variety of theories and techniques to deal with immediate feelings of stress or depression as well as deeper exploration of how historical experiences may have affected your current responses and reactions.
It is important that you feel in control of your own therapeutic journey and I therefore offer professional support at your own individual pace to support your unique hopes and aspirations or simply to help you to help yourself out of a dark place.
I am experienced in helping clients to navigate through difficult times whilst maintaining a family life and work balance. I create a place to pause and reflect to enable you to make considered, essential and impactful decisions. My hope is that you feel more alive, more present and more the person you want to be in order to live more consciously, authentically and happily. As a parent and former city lawyer I am familiar with the rigours of corporate and family life and I know there are no prizes for suffering alone.
I have specialist experience of managing life-limiting illnesses and bereavement. I also have experience of supporting doctors and dentists in crisis. I am compassionate and caring and committed to the process of counselling.
Practice description
As an integrative counsellor, I am able to tailor each therapy session to your individual circumstances applying my knowledge of a variety of theories and techniques during our sessions. I also believe strongly in psycho-education so that you can understand your own patterns of behaviour and thought beliefs which allows you to help yourself beyond the therapy room.
My first session
In our first session I look to understand why you have reached out for professional help at this particular time. I will ask some questions to understand the context of your current struggles. The most important aspect of our first session will be for you to feel comfortable with me, sharing your thoughts and feelings. Our first session is therefore about establishing trust and rapport before we go on a journey together where I hope to be alongside you every step of the way.
