About me and my therapy practice
Something keeps happening. The same argument. The same feeling at the end of another difficult week. The same version of yourself, showing up again, even when you were sure you'd left it behind. You can see the pattern clearly enough. You just can't seem to stop it.
That's usually when people find their way here.
I'm a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor with more than 20 years of experience working with adults and couples. I work in a healthcare setting and in private practice, and I offer both short-term and longer-term work. What I do is less about managing what's on the surface, and more about understanding what's driving it.
Practice description
Much of my work sits at the intersection of loss, identity, and relationship.
Relationship and relational patterns: The repeated dynamic. The communication that breaks down in the same place every time. The relationship that has gradually become something unrecognisable, or the version of yourself you've lost track of.
Identity, self-esteem, and life transitions: Particularly for people who function well outwardly and feel something missing inwardly. Long-term anxiety, depression, and difficulty that accumulates quietly over time.
Childlessness and reproductive loss: The children you hoped for and didn't have. The pregnancy that ended quietly while the world kept moving. These are losses that don't always have funerals, that the people around you may not know how to hold. I work with people navigating infertility, pregnancy or baby loss, and childlessness not by choice. Whether that's a grief still waiting to be named, or feelings of anger, shame, or isolation carried privately.
Childfree by choice: The complexity, the social pressure, the moments of certainty or doubt. I work with people who have chosen not to have children and want space to think without being talked out of it or reassured into it.
For Couples. I work with couples who want to understand what keeps happening between them. Not just how to communicate differently, but what each person brings to the dynamic and why. Including couples navigating issues of loss, identity and major life transitions.
How I work. Together we may think about relationships, emotional patterns, early experiences, and ways of relating that may once have been protective but now feel painful or stuck. I work relationally and take seriously what happens between us in the room. I'm interested in understanding why you keep finding yourself here, not just in managing it better. Short-term therapy suits people navigating a specific issue. Longer-term work is for people who want to understand the pattern rather than just interrupt it.
