About me and my therapy practice

Something keeps happening. Maybe it's the same argument, the same dynamic, the same feeling at the end of a relationship or a difficult week. You can see it clearly enough. You just can't seem to stop it.

That's usually when people find their way here.

I'm a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor with over 20 years' experience working with adults who are experiencing difficulties. The work I do is less about managing what's on the surface and more about understanding what's underneath it.

Practice description

I have particular experience with:

  • Relationship difficulties: repeated patterns, communication breakdown, people navigating rupture or transition
  • Grief and loss, including losses the world doesn't always recognise or name, childlessness not by choice, infertility, pregnancy loss, and the grief of a life that didn't take the shape you expected
  • Identity and self-esteem, especially for people who function well outwardly and feel something missing inwardly
  • Life transitions, health challenges, longer-term anxiety and depression
  • Childfree by choice: the complexity, the ambivalence, and the pressure that often comes with it

Perhaps it's the children you hoped for and didn't have. The pregnancy that ended quietly, while the world kept moving. These are the losses that don't always have funerals, that people around you may not know how to hold. I do.

Or the relationship that gradually became something unrecognisable. The version of yourself you've lost track of somewhere along the way.

How I work

My orientation is psychodynamic. I'm interested in working with you to develop an understanding why you keep finding yourself here, not just in finding ways to manage it better. I work relationally; what happens between us in the room matters, and I take it seriously.

I offer both short-term and longer-term work. Short-term therapy suits people navigating a specific event or transition. Longer-term work is for people who want to go deeper, to understand the pattern rather than just interrupt it.

Sessions are available face-to-face, online, and by telephone.

For couples

I work with couples who want to understand what keeps happening between them. Not just how to communicate more effectively, but what each person brings to the dynamic and why. This includes couples navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, separation, or a relationship that has quietly become something unrecognisable.

My first session

I offer a free initial conversation so you can get a sense of how I work before committing to anything.
