About me and my therapy practice

I am a Person-Centred, Accredited Counsellor, with a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Strathclyde.

Some people I support have a specific goal they would like to work towards. Others seek out counselling because of a more general feeling, of life being not quite how they would like it to be. The direction and the pace of counselling are based on what feels right for you.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to focus on you, what you’re finding difficult, and how you’d like things to change. For some that’s internal change, such as building confidence, finding acceptance or reducing anxiety. Others are looking for external change, in communication, implementing boundaries, or taking the risk to go in a new direction.

Practice description

I offer sessions online using Google Meet, over the phone, and in person in Glasgow city centre.

Face to face sessions are held in an accessible space, with accessible toilet facilities. There is step-free access into, and within, the building via a lift.

Availability

I currently have some availability for both online and in person sessions, during the day and the evening.

Supervision sessions cost £60 per hour. A discounted rate of £50 per hour is available for trainees.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and Supervisor. My supervision is based on the Seven Eyed Model. This means that I welcome all aspects of your experience and practice to the supervision space. This can include what is happening for you personally, with specific clients, emerging themes and trends, organisational and workplace issues, career progression, as well as socioeconomic, systemic, existential and political issues.

I offer supervision that is collaborative, flexible and respectful. It is intended to offer you a constructive space to examine your practice, reflect on ethical and effective working, and to support your growth as a therapist.

Practice description

As a counsellor I have experience working with adults in private practice, Employee Assistance Programmes, the Third sector and Higher Education settings. I also worked as a Counselling Coordinator, overseeing a LGBTQ+ counselling service, managing both trainee and qualified counsellors.

I offer sessions online using Google Meet, over the phone, and in person in Glasgow city centre. Face to face sessions are held in an accessible space, with accessible toilet facilities. There is step-free access into, and within, the building via a lift.

My first session

I appreciate that it takes time to build a trusting relationship in supervision, and that your needs might change over time. In a first session with a trainee counsellor, I am curious to learn about their understanding, hopes and expectations from the supervisory space. For counsellors seeking a change in their supervision, I will also ask about what has been helpful and unhelpful in past supervision experiences.

Training and working as a counsellor is challenging. I believe the quality of your relationship with your supervisor is vital, so it is important to find the right person. If you would like to arrange an initial, free chat, then please complete the contact form and we can plan this together.
