About me and my therapy practice

I’m a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in North East London. I work indoors, outdoors, and on the phone or online. I have a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from The Minster Centre.

My training and way of working is integrative, which means that I draw on different ways of understanding human experience to find an approach that works best for you. My role is not to provide a diagnosis or give you solutions but to help you to re-connect with your own feelings, desires, and insights – to find your way back to yourself. In doing so, we might explore dreams, drawings, music, writing, physical sensations, early childhood experiences, or anything else that feels useful.

I am passionate about recognising and valuing diverse experiences of all kinds, and I'm committed to an ongoing examination of my own assumptions and biases so that these do not get in the way of our work together. I’m interested in both the meaning of individual experience, and the broader social, economic and political factors that shape our lives, including class discrimination, racialisation, ableism, misogyny, mono- and heteronormativity, homophobia, and transphobia.

I have over ten years’ experience in research, advocacy, and social justice in the UK and Australia. As a migrant myself, I have a long-standing interest in migration and belonging. I have a PhD in climate change and international law, and I've worked for 8 years with people in immigration detention. This means I’ve got to know people from all walks of life who are struggling with a range of issues, including trauma, violence, displacement, discrimination, bereavement, hearing voices, self-harm, anxiety, despair, perfectionism, addiction, and more.

Practice description

I work in North East London, with a room near Finsbury Park that is close to tube, train, overground and bus stops.

The therapy room is wheelchair accessible, although unfortunately the toilet, while it is step free, is not wheelchair accessible. Please let me know if you have any other questions about accessibility.

I also offer sessions outdoors in green spaces around Finsbury Park and Haringey.

My first session

If you're interested in finding out more, the first step is to get in touch to arrange a free initial ;/.phone call - and then, if it feels right, an introductory session where we can get to know each other better. If we both feel that the first meeting has gone well, we can arrange a time to meet regularly, usually for 60 minutes a week. We might agree to meet for a short time (around 12 sessions), a longer time (6 months to a year), or without any fixed ending.

In certain circumstances, I am able to offer sessions via phone or video-call.
