About me and my therapy practice

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing or simply harder than it should. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, life transitions, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whether you're seeking support as an individual or as a couple, I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely heard.

I'm an accredited ÌÇÐĹÙÍø counsellor with additional training in Intimate Partner Therapy. I work with individuals, couples and intimate partners of all genders and sexualities. As a humanistic therapist, I believe people have the capacity for growth and change, and that this ability flourishes when they feel understood, accepted and valued.

In individual sessions, we'll work together to explore your experiences, make sense of difficult emotions, recognise unhelpful patterns and build greater self-awareness, resilience and confidence. Therapy offers a space to understand yourself more deeply and move towards the life you want to live.

In intimate partner sessions, my role isn't to decide who's right or wrong or to take sides. Instead, I help you explore the patterns that have developed between you, improve communication, deepen understanding and find healthier ways of relating. Whether you're rebuilding trust, navigating life changes, parenting, intimacy or loss, or simply wanting to reconnect before problems emerge, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

Every person and every relationship is unique, so I tailor therapy to your needs rather than following a fixed programme. Together we'll create a safe, respectful environment where difficult conversations and emotions can be explored with curiosity, honesty and compassion.

Finding the right therapist can feel daunting, so I offer a free, no-obligation initial consultation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions and see whether working together feels right.

Practice description

I work in private practice, and for Wellbeing in the Arts, offering counselling to individuals and couples in person from my peaceful practice near Matlock, overlooking the Peak District National Park, online, or through a combination of both.

Alongside my BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy for counselling individuals, I hold the Level 7 Certificate in Intimate Partner Therapy from the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology. This specialist training enables me to support couples and intimate partners, however they choose to relate, in understanding the patterns and dynamics that shape their relationship and create lasting, meaningful change.

Whether I'm working with an individual or a couple, I believe a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for effective counselling. That's why I offer a free 30-minute consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, talk about what brings you to therapy, and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. Rather than following a fixed programme, I'm guided by your needs, goals and pace. I'm interested in your experiences, how you're feeling, and what matters most to you. Together we'll create a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where every part of you is welcome.

When working with couples, I provide a balanced environment where everyone has the opportunity to feel heard and understood. Together we can explore relationship patterns, improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust or strengthen your connection in ways that fit your unique relationship.

As an accredited member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø, I'm committed to working within the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework and maintaining high standards of professional practice through ongoing training, supervision and continuing professional development.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute consultation in-person, online or over the phone so you can ask me any questions you may have, we can get a feel for how it might be to work together and whether I'm the right counsellor for you.
