About me and my therapy practice

Counselling offers a space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind, whether that’s feeling low, anxious, overwhelmed, or just stuck. Life can be tough at times, and reaching out for support is not always easy. It takes courage to take that first step, and by doing so, investing in yourself.

I have nine years of experience working with counselling clients. In that time, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings, including charities, private practice, rape crisis support, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.  Each of these experiences has helped deepen my understanding of the challenges people face. My own experience of long-term counselling has also reinforced how supportive therapy can be. Alongside counselling, my background includes working with individuals with learning differences and chronic health conditions, both in stroke recovery and renal counselling support.

I hold CPD Certificates in the following -

Working with Substance use

ADHD and Counselling

Working online

Trauma-informed practice

Hearing Voices

Domestic Abuse

Sexual Violence and Rape

Eating Disorders

Working with Neurodivergent Clients

Autism and Counselling

Practice description

I am not here to offer a clinical experience. I am here as a human to offer guidance when needed, and to walk alongside you as you work through what’s on your mind. My approach to counselling is relational and integrative. This means I draw on different therapeutic approaches to best support your individual needs, while also focusing on building a strong, trusting relationship between us. I believe that healing happens through connection, and our relationship is a crucial part of that. It is important to me that we work together in a way that feels supportive, respectful and tailored to you as a whole person..

My first session

Once you have made contact, we can arrange a free initial telephone consultation to answer any questions you may have. Please get in touch by Email or Text - I am unable to answer unplanned phone calls. If you decide you would like to work together, we can then arrange a session. In our initial chat, there’s no pressure to share more than you want to. This conversation is about seeing if we are the right fit, giving you space to talk about what has brought you here, and for me to explain how I work and answer any questions.

There is no obligation to continue if you feel we are not compatible. Finding a therapist that you feel you can work with is important, and I can explore other possibilities with you. I provide long and short-term therapy.

All sessions are remote

While this may not feel suitable for everyone, my experience over the past six years has shown that online work can provide an effective, safe, powerful and meaningful therapeutic space. It can also offer greater flexibility, making it easier to fit sessions into day-to-day life.

If you are unsure whether remote sessions are right for you, you are welcome to arrange an initial session to see how it feels, with no expectation to continue if it does not feel like the right fit.
