About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Lorraine
If you are looking for a professional counsellor; person centred trained who occasionally integrates other approaches as and when needed, then I might be the right person for you.
Why not book a session with me and afterwards ask how it felt talking with me and if I am someone you feel able to connect with.
Individual counselling
I can work with many specific issues such as Grief, Loss and Bereavement. Able to sit alongside you and hear your story, help to make sense of strong emerging emotions and offer you that safe space.
This often can make a big difference once you start to feel less alone with the situation.
I can help with anxiety, and understand the impact of this. After completing a CBT certificate able to link how our thoughts, link to our behaviours and actions. If you feel stuck and want to unpick this together am able to offer this service.
If you are want to explore Neuro diversity and how this impacts on you and the world around you, we can do this together. I am a firm believer of Allyship.
If you feel emotionally triggered, want to deepen self-awareness, or establish boundaries maybe for the first time then we can do this together.
Other issues around thoughts, overwhelming feelings, hopelessness, loneliness, low confidence, perhaps perfectionism, avoidance or any areas that is stopping you from being the best version of yourself.

About me and my therapy practice
About me
Hello I'm Lorrie, a counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor and audiologist.
I hold Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling alongside Level 5 in Psychotherapeutic counselling and Level 7 (NCIP) advanced diploma in Counselling supervision. An accredited counsellor through the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø & NCPS.
I work with an open heart and mind, to meet the needs of each individual.
How counselling can help?
Counselling provides a safe container and personal space to bring challenges, struggles, beliefs, desires for change. Through this process you will gain greater understanding of yourself, your relationships, your life and behaviour patterns. Together we can build on this, by learning tools and skills that will help you deal better when these challenges or difficulties arise and assist you to move forward. This counselling process gently unfolds, as you develop into your best self and start to hear your voice through the current situation, difficulty, pain or loss. I listen intently and you will be deeply heard and have me alongside you during your journey, your development and change.

Practice description
A bit about me:
I've been an Audiologist for over two decades finding people just naturally talk and open up' with me as I am a natural empath. This led me to being curious around how I can support people and better listen etc. My life journey unfolded outside of my clinical role and counselling training started slowly in 2016 before becoming fully registered in 2019 and then 2025 fully accredited with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø. This means I have demonstrated commitment to shared high standards which safe-guard clients and ensures they have access to a competent and ethical practitioner.
Training, and counselling process
Trained in the Person-centred approach Occasionally I integrate different tools and skills if it feels appropriate to gain deeper perspective and clarity. This is done with great thought, with an open mind and heart linking to my counselling ethos.
Other professionals and Consultative supervision:
My supervision qualification means I can supervise counsellors and offer Consultative supervision for any profession who is involved in looking after or caring for others e.g vets, doctors, teachers, nurses etc. This would work as a container to stop work stresses bleeding into the rest of our lives. I liken it to a pressure valve, or just a honest time to take freely, to reflect and process. In todays hectic world, having a 'neutral person' will help prevent burnout and help to improve work/life balance
My first session
What to expect in your first counselling session:
First sessions can feel odd as it is unique to you. My aim is to always put you at ease whilst we discuss the practicalities of how we might work together. Normally we discuss what brought you to counselling, whether this is an area I can work within, how many sessions might be needed, when and how counselling is brought to a close. I will discuss confidentiality and record-keeping and encourage you if there is a need for something to be done differently to meet your needs. My aim is to make sure, everything is clear and nothing is confused and you are clear on how counselling works and how I work.

About me and my therapy practice
About me and my practice
Hello I'm Lorrie (Lorraine), a counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor and audiologist.
My professional qualifications support the above, e.g. Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling alongside Level 5 in Psychotherapeutic counselling and Level 7 (NCIP) advanced diploma in Counselling supervision.
SCoPED Column B Accredited ÌÇÐĹÙÍø & PNCPS.
Supervision encompasses the person centred approach and its core conditions of Empathy, UPR and Congruence whilst bringing together PCA models and some Integrative models to form a Hybrid approach depending on individuals needs.
I am always happy to hear from supervisees attracted to working with me alongside mature trainees from other professions who are starting to train or those qualified in other professions who are moving into private practice.
Practice description
July 2026: Currently have space to welcome two new supervisees to my practice.
How to contact me:
Please text me on 07928 344770 or email me on Lorrainegolding45@gmail.com
We can then discuss if I am a good fit for your supervision needs.
My supervision ethos
I hold the belief that not one single supervision method is effective for all situations and thus we need more freedom and flexibility when it comes to working as a counsellor..
I am person-centred trained and grounded myself with this but always challenged myself to become the best supervisor I can be by studying different approaches 'humanistic' and studying Level 7 Integrative supervision models.
This provides some flexibility when it comes to supervision as I form a hybrid approach almost 'helicopter view' of the counselling process.
Our work would be to form a strong therapeutic relationship together, a deliberate joint endeavour with the aim of improving the quality of work, transform client relationships, and 'Be in the moment'.
My first session
Our first meeting is always free to you 30 mins in total.
This will be a discussion around the work required, how we might work together based on our approaches, experience, clients types, specialisms and practice. We both needs to feel this is right otherwise I might not be the right supervisor for you.
My fees reflect my ruralness in Truro with lower wages whilst taking into account the cost of living for all counsellors.
I have a 'Pay forward' agreement so if you wish to pay higher fee based where you live and want to support a new counsellor needing supervision then 5% can be added which will be offered towards their fees. That would be acceptable to me.
Supervision days are Tuesday or Friday with the occasional Saturday to flex for holidays or sickness etc.
Please call or email me if you wish to speak together and book your free 30 mins session.
