About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome. My name is Lucy, and I am a Person-Centred Counsellor supporting adults, children, young people, and families through a wide range of emotional difficulties, life challenges, and personal experiences. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, abuse, stress, loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, feeling overwhelmed, and those who may simply feel stuck, unheard, or disconnected within themselves.

I understand that it can sometimes feel difficult to put emotions and experiences into words. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Alongside talking therapy, I may incorporate creativity and mindfulness to help clients express themselves in ways that feel natural and supportive. This can include creative visualisation, sand tray work, play, mindfulness techniques, working with natural resources, and other creative approaches tailored to your individual needs.

The Person-Centred Approach is at the heart of how I work and how I relate to others. I believe in being authentic, empathic, transparent, and respectful, creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, valued, and understood. My hope is that through working together, you can gain greater self-awareness, resilience, peace, and a deeper sense of joy and fulfilment in your life.

For clients who are interested, I can also integrate holistic techniques that focus on relaxation, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing. This may include meditation, grounding practices, and energy-based approaches designed to support healing, self-connection, and emotional wellbeing in a gentle and supportive way.

I believe that every person’s journey is unique, and I aim to offer a space where you can feel empowered to be yourself and supported in creating meaningful change.

Practice description

I offer an empathic, compassionate, and deeply respectful space where your lived experiences are acknowledged without judgement and met with unconditional positive regard. I understand that beginning counselling can feel vulnerable, which is why I work gently and collaboratively, allowing therapy to unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

I see counselling as an organic and creative process, shaped by you and what you choose to bring into the therapy room. No two therapeutic journeys are the same. Together, we create a space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with honesty, safety, and openness. My aim is to support a gradual movement towards deeper self-awareness, authenticity, healing, and emotional freedom, always working in a way that feels comfortable, empowering, and meaningful for you.

Alongside my counselling practice, I also work as a spiritual healing practitioner, offering a holistic approach that honours the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. For those who feel drawn to this way of working, I can incorporate practices that encourage relaxation, grounding, emotional balance, and inner peace. This integrative approach can help nurture a greater sense of harmony, connection, and wellbeing within yourself and your life.

My first session

Choosing to begin counselling can feel like a significant and sometimes daunting step, so it is important to me that you feel comfortable, supported, and able to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. I therefore offer a free initial consultation, giving us the opportunity to get to know one another, explore what has brought you to therapy, and answer any questions you may have in a relaxed and welcoming space.

I offer both open-ended and short-term counselling (6–12 sessions), depending on your individual needs and goals. Sessions are tailored to you and can take place either indoors or outdoors in nature for clients who feel more comfortable connecting and reflecting within a natural environment. Outdoor therapy can provide a calming and grounding space that supports emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, and healing.
