About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in life - striving to move forward, but unable to move past the memories and emotions that are holding us back. At times like this, we can become overwhelmed and begin to feel hopeless. Perhaps you feel like you are failing when you compare yourself to others. Maybe you’ve had enough of feeling stuck and want to find a way out? If this sounds familiar, I would like to work with you. Whether you are seeking individual or relationship counselling, you will have the opportunity to gain perspective on your circumstances and consider how you would like to move forward in life.

When working with individuals, I listen carefully to your experiences and ask questions that will help you identify themes and patterns in your life. I also pay careful attention to the relationship between you and I as this can offer us insight into your relationships outside of our sessions, both in the past and the present day.

When working with couples and groups, I pay attention to the relationship while noticing any relational, intimacy and communication difficulties that may arise. Relationship counselling includes any romantic consensual combination of individuals whether married, in a long-term partnership, open relationship, throuple or anything else. Relationship counselling is also for those looking to amicably separate or divorce, also know as conscious uncoupling. All relationship types are welcomed and affirmed.

Practice description

By offering a collaborative and unique approach to each of my clients, I work with your expectations and desired outcomes in therapy. Each session, I provide a contained space where your pain and struggles can be heard and felt, while noticing and highlighting themes that emerge as the therapeutic work progresses.

My approach to therapy is less problem-focused and more exploratory; allowing space for uncovered themes and unconscious experiences to be worked through. For this reason, it is preferable to work longer-term (six months or more) with a commitment to meet at least once per week. I offer a more focused and time-limited arrangement for relationship therapy, which equips individuals with the skills to work through difficulties in their relationships.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues, which specifically include (but are not limited to) anxiety, depression, loneliness, bereavement, relationship difficulties, emotional abuse, sexual problems and sexual abuse. As a Psychosexual Therapist, I have an enhanced awareness of sexual and relational difficulties, including Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) issues.

I understand that finding the right counsellor is very important and the process of therapy requires courage and commitment. Therefore, I offer a free 15-minute phone call where you can give me a brief overview of your situation and ask any questions you may have. From there, we can book an initial session to discuss your needs further.

About me and my therapy practice

Supervision is space where we can slow down and look carefully at the work. Not just what’s happening with your clients, but how you are in it — what you notice, what you carry, and what might be repeating itself across the work.

I tend to think relationally and psychodynamically. That often means paying attention to patterns, to what sits just outside of your awareness, and to what emerges between you and your clients. It also includes how the work is affecting you, and how you sustain yourself over time.

Though I approach supervision through a psychodynamic lens, my core training is integrative which helps me adapt to your way of working and the needs of your clients. Some work stays close to the clinical detail; some moves out into wider reflection. We can hold both.

Alongside private practice, I supervise within Mind across clinical and non-clinical settings. I also run an affordable counselling service in Cardiff, where I support trainee therapists on placement.

£30 for 50-minute sessions (reduced rate until July 2026).

I’m currently training in Psychodynamic Supervision from a Jungian orientation with The Society of Analytic Psychology.

If you’re considering supervision, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can arrange a call to see how it might work.
