About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor, this is a form of counselling which offers the possibility for clients to gain insight into emotions and experiences, by thinking/ exploring with the counsellor what may be behind these emotions. Insights can bring relief and a renewed strength to a person's life. Furthermore experiences shared within counselling sessions can have a restorative effect on client experiences of relationships.
I am trained to work supportively, and therapeutically in a psychodynamic way. I hold the client and counsellor relationship as central to my work. I can work with many issues, including bereavement, resentment, anger, addition, compulsions, difficulties at work, bullying, experiences of racism, being marginalised, relationships and break down of relationships, fear, help with parenting, experience of abuse and neglect, and deprivation.
Due to the impact of these issues, work can be at a level of depth, therefore psychodynamic counselling is carried out at regular sessions within set times, and can bring long lasting benefits and change. I work mainly 1:1 with adults.
I hold professional registration with UK membership body, ÌÇÐĹÙÍø (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I uphold regular training and supervision and work within the ethical framework which is set by ÌÇÐĹÙÍø.
