About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Richard English, a psychotherapist specialising in working with men, based in Central London, and online. I currently have availability for new clients.
Many of the men I see are managing work pressure, relationship, family, and dating stress, or questions about direction and purpose.
You don't always need a 'big' reason for therapy. I can help with self-esteem, anxiety, feeling unlovable, lonely or stuck, sex and relationships, family issues, imposter syndrome, and work stress.
I can help you challenge limiting self-beliefs, and find useful ways through your current stress.
Getting started:
Email to schedule a free, no obligation chat to discuss what's brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. It’s a good opportunity to ask me any questions and see how we might work together.
Practice description
It's common for men to question themselves, feel unsure what to do next, or experience stress, anxiety, or low mood.
I help men develop self-understanding, clarity, resilience, communication skills, coping mechanisms, and techniques that can last a lifetime.
I aim to create a relaxed and confidential space that helps you explore freely and without judgement. Hopefully it will be helpful, practical, and even enjoyable.
I trained at The Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading institutes for counselling and psychotherapy. Before retraining, I worked in marketing, photojournalism, and TV production, so understand the business world and importance of communication.
I volunteered with Terrence Higgins Trust, and Stonewall, and was a trustee at London Friend.
My first session
I offer a free, online 30 minute chat where we can talk about what you hope to achieve from therapy.
I’ll explain how sessions are structured and what you can expect. This first chat can help you feel more at ease and clearer about starting therapy.
We’ll then agree a regular time to meet — either in person or online — for a weekly 50-minute session.
Drop me a line to arrange a free chat. I’ll reply promptly, and we can schedule a time that suits you.
