About me and my therapy practice

If you need space to be calm, to talk, to be emotional, to regroup or to regain your strength then Goddess Counselling is for you.

I offer a safe space without judgement, time out from daily life and a chance to nourish which areas to want to grow in, and to weed the areas that are detrimental to you.

I am a former psychiatrist with NHS experience. I left to persue holistic therapy some years ago.

I completed my counselling training with the Tariki Trust, which has a Buddhist underpinning. I have a number of other interests in the spiritual realm including the divine feminine principle, nature working, shamanism, magick, tarot and western esotericism.

I specialise in counselling with people who live or want to live a spiritual life.

Due to my psychiatric background I am also comfortable providing supportive counselling for those who have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness.

I have experience in working with trauma survivors, grief, caring for others or have been diagnosed with a serious illness such as cancer.

I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and GSRD positive. All religions are welcome. People with disability are welcome. I am currently studying on an anti-oppressive course and have some experience working within an anti-oppressive lens.

I work in a face to face setting, by video, telephone or out in nature.

Practice description

I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where we can respectfully work together to find a way through your current difficulties.

My work is informed by Buddhist psychology and other spiritual practices and is therefore particularly suited to those with these interests.

My counselling training was in 'Other Centred Therapy,' which focuses on relationships with others and the world as a whole.

have an eclectic background, including psychiatry, which allows me to tailor my approach to individual needs.

My first session

In the initial session there will be a space for you to describe where you are now, and something of how you got to your current position. I would like to know how you want things to be in the future and your ideas on what would work best for you in terms of counselling.

To help me understand your situation, I may ask about previous experiences and how they relate to the aspects that you want to work on. This will give me an idea of how best to start. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions, in order for you to assess whether you feel we can work together.

It is my professional responsibility to ensure that you receive the most appropriate form of help. Should it become clear that what is offered is not the most suitable or helpful approach to meet your needs, I will endeavour to suggest or recommend alternative sources of support.

About me and my therapy practice

I am friendly, professional and spiritual.

I have several years of experience working with trauma, particularly domestic and sexual violence and abuse.

I also have experience in chronic or terminal conditions and more severe mental illness.

My practice is a blend of therapy, Buddhist Psychology, tarot, modern witchcraft and shamanism. If you have an interest in developing this type of integrated spiritual practice into your work with clients, this can also be part of our supervision.

My supervision training was through the lens of anti-oppressive practice. Anti-oppressive practice means I work to  bring cultural awareness to counselling and supervision and decentralise Eurocentric practices.

I facilitate counsellors to be supportive of the client’s identity in terms of their culture, gender, sexuality and experience of disability.

Practice description

I offer supervision to both qualified counsellors and trainee counsellors in their placement.

Depending on your level of experience, I like our supervision sessions to be largely counsellor-led.

My first session

I usually arrange an initial chat remotely for 15-30min, which is free of charge.

Then in our first full session I take details of your practice and level of experience and we make a plan together on how you’d like to work

Get in touch if you'd like more information or to book an initial chat by telephone or zoom.
