About me and my therapy practice
I am a Southampton based ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Accredited and insured integrative counsellor offering face-to-face sessions for individuals to explore any difficult thoughts, feelings & behaviours you are experiencing.
I offer weekly in-person sessions in central Southampton and have experience working with anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, identity, culture & diversity, sexuality, relationships, trauma, ADHD and loss & bereavement. We can also have the occasional zoom session. My approach is based on authenticity & insight; through a relationship where we can both be honest, genuine & accepting, we can create a space where we can collaboratively examine what you experience & why so that you can make changes where you want to.
I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is the vehicle for change so I work to provide a space that is supportive, non-judgmental and appropriately challenging. I will work with you to bring unconscious ideas, feelings & patterns to your attention and examine possible sources of these to help give you more understanding & control of your life. Alongside this I will help you notice, connect with and tolerate any emotions as they arise.
Often we view & experience life through a lens that is based on past experiences & relationships. This can play out in the therapeutic relationship & together we can explore this, working through unresolved feelings to allow you to shed the shackles of the past & experience things as they are now. Together we can notice & explore any unconscious material and relieve any anxiety you may experience.

Practice description
Training & Experience
I have completed a 2 year ÌÇÐĹÙÍø accredited Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling with Iron Mill College, Poole. Integrative means that I am trained to draw on multiple theoretical approaches and blend them to tailor the way I work to each client. I draw in the main from psychodynamic and humanistic theories.
I have over two years’ experience counselling in a local hospice and have spent time volunteering for a local community counselling organisation. In 2021 I opened my private practice.
Ethics & Standards
As an Accredited member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) adhering to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, you can trust that I am working to high professional and ethical standards and am dedicated to providing a good service.
Part of this dedication is to my continuous professional development which I maintain by attending training courses and keeping up with developments in the counselling and psychotherapy field. In addition to this I attend regular clinical supervision where I discuss my caseload, while maintaining confidentiality, with a more experienced practitioner.
It is important to find the right therapist for you and I encourage you to shop around.
My first session
I offer a free initial consultation which lasts 30 minutes and takes place on the telephone. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about counselling and see if you would like to work with me.
If we agree to work together we would then arrange an assessment which lasts 50 minutes and takes place in person. This offers a chance for you to share what has brought you to counselling and an opportunity for me to collect some details to better understand your experience.
We would then begin having weekly counselling sessions which last 50 minutes and take place in person. We can also occasionally work online using Zoom. Sessions will take place at the same time each week however I understand that some people require flexibility. I will work to accommodate occasional reschedules as they arise.
I look forward to hearing from you.
