About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for visiting my page.

Often for many reasons, life can become unmanageable and you may be feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope with life.

There may be several reasons why you may want to talk, perhaps an emotionally difficult experience, challenging life transition, a loss or bereavement or address a longer standing issue. You may feel stuck and repeating patterns of behaviour which are causing anxiety, stress or depression.

Sometimes the problem isn’t so clear, it’s not just one thing but you know how you would normally cope and manage life isn’t working.

Working extensively with grief since qualifying and throughout my training, has taught me that loss is rarely just about what has gone. It often touches our identity, relationships, confidence, hopes for the future and our sense of who we are.

I offer a compassionate space where all forms of loss are recognised—which may include a relationship, health, confidence, self-worth, home, faith, or a life you imagined.

You may be experiencing the death of a loved one and all the confusing feelings which come with grief. Or maybe a loss which you didn’t feel would impact you as it has.

Together, we can navigate the changes these losses bring to your life and your sense of connection.

Sometimes the anticipation of loss or change can become all-consuming, and it may not be possible to share with those you are closest to, without judgement, worry of pleasing, holding on to feelings which may upset or keeping it together. Not being able to show our true feelings, thoughts and emotions can have an impact on how we sleep, function daily or experience life.

Practice description

I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches allowing me to tailor therapy to you as an individual, recognising that every person's experiences, strengths and needs are different.

I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling and psychotherapy. My aim is to walk alongside you with warmth, honesty, and respect, helping you feel empowered to make sense of your experiences and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

My first session

My aim is to make the process of starting counselling as simple as possible.

I offer a free 30-minute chat on Zoom or telephone, this allows us to talk through what has brought you to counselling, any practical questions and whether you feel we could work together.

If you feel you would like to explore further, we can then arrange an assessment for you to talk through your needs and goals for counselling.

After this assessment, there is no obligation to continue with counselling.

If this feels too much at this stage - just to gain a little more information or any questions you may have drop me an email and I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.

Please take your time to gain a sense of who you would like to work with, contact a few counsellors to explore your needs and ultimately who you feel will support you.

Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to carry it alone.
