Sessions from £95.00

Features

Availability

I currently have space for a small number of new counselling clients.

I work flexibly, so we can talk through what times might suit you in our introductory consultation. Some clients like a dedicated day and time set aside each week, and I'll always make sure they can book the same slot regularly. Others prefer to vary their sessions around their diaries.

My private practice hours are 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday. Many of my clients book lunchtime sessions or other times that fit around their working day. Online sessions mean you can join from home, a private office, or anywhere quiet with a good connection.

I offer online sessions via Zoom or telephone sessions for UK-based clients, and you can choose your preferred format each time you book.

You can reschedule sessions through my online booking system up to 48 hours before the session start time.

I offer a free 30-minute online video or telephone consultation to all potential clients so we can talk briefly about what's bringing you to counselling, and whether working together feels right for you, with no obligation to book.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Helen. I'm a counsellor specialising in menopause, POI, fertility, hormone and women's health issues, with a particular interest in how these intersect with neurodivergence (especially ADHD and Autism).

Many of my clients are professional women navigating something they didn't expect - perimenopause symptoms colliding with a demanding career, an early menopause or POI diagnosis, the emotional weight of fertility treatment, or making sense of an ADHD or Autism diagnosis later in life. Before training as a therapist, I worked in senior People roles in fast-paced financial services and media organisations, so I understand the particular pressures of holding it together at work while everything feels uncertain underneath.

My approach is practical, honest and warm. I won't judge you. I'll help you make sense of what you're thinking and feeling, support you to make decisions that are right for you, and help you come to terms with the things that can't be changed.

I offer specialist support with:

  • Peri/post-menopause and hormone issues
  • POI / early menopause
  • Infertility, fertility treatment (IUI, IVF, donor conception, surrogacy)
  • Pregnancy anxiety, post-natal depression, baby loss, TFMR, trying again after loss
  • Women's health and gynaecological issues (GSM/VA, POP, endometriosis/adeomyosis, pelvic pain)
  • Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism) and how hormones affect it
  • Chronic health conditions, life transitions, work stress, anxiety and low mood

My specialist training includes IMPART (menopause), CBT for Menopause Symptoms, the Advanced Specialist Diploma in Fertility Counselling, autism and ADHD in therapy, and NEDDE (eating disorders and neurodivergence). I'm also a qualified clinical supervisor and an EMCC-accredited coach.

My interest in this work is informed by my own lived experience.

Practice description

I offer online video and telephone counselling. Sessions are confidential and take place from wherever you feel safe and won't be overheard - for many of my clients that's a quiet room at home, sometimes in a lunch break or between meetings.

In our sessions you can talk through whatever is causing you difficulty and its impact on your mental health, relationships, sense of self, career and life plans. I'm integratively trained and draw on humanistic approaches (person-centred, Gestalt), psychotherapeutic approaches (Transactional Analysis, CBT) and somatic techniques, adapting how we work to what suits you.

Consultation and sessions

  • 30-minute free online video or telephone consultation
  • 50-minute standard sessions (please allow up to 60 minutes)
  • 90-minute extended sessions if you'd like more time
  • Weekly sessions at the same day and time, or flexible booking around your diary
  • I usually recommend starting weekly, and we can review what works as we go

Most clients work with me open-endedly for as long as they need. Some prefer a fixed number of sessions. We'll agree this together at the start and revisit it as your counselling progresses.

I work with clients across the UK and internationally. If you're outside the UK, please mention this when you get in touch so I can confirm I'm able to work with clients in your location.

My first session

Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit matters, especially for the sensitive issues many of my clients bring. I offer a free 30-minute online video or telephone consultation so we can talk briefly about what's bringing you to counselling and whether working together feels right for you, with no obligation to book.

If you decide to go ahead following our introductory call, I'll email you a Calendly link to book your first session (where you'll also find my Counselling Agreement and cancellation policy), along with a short online form to complete before we meet.

Your first session will continue on from our initial call. We'll explore what you'd like to focus on and how I can best support you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you start counselling - you might just be aware that something needs to change, and we can go from there.
