About me and my therapy practice
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whatever has brought you here, taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but you don't have to face it alone.
I believe lasting change begins when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without judgement. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you, exploring not only the difficulties you're experiencing but also the experiences, relationships, and beliefs that may have shaped them. My aim is to help you better understand yourself while developing practical ways to move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Over the years, I have supported people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including addiction and alcohol use, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, and significant life changes.
My experience of working with addiction has reinforced my belief that behaviours such as alcohol or substance use are often attempts to cope with emotional pain rather than the problem itself. Behind these behaviours there may be trauma, loss, anxiety, shame, or unmet emotional needs. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I believe it is important to understand the person and the experiences that have shaped them. This belief underpins all of my therapeutic work.
Practice description
Whether you're struggling with addiction, caught in cycles of anxiety, overthinking or catastrophising, or feeling unsure of who you are, therapy can help you understand not only what is happening, but why. Together, we'll explore the patterns beneath your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, helping you develop healthier, more fulfilling ways of coping.
You may be navigating grief, the end of a relationship, family difficulties, or the lasting impact of earlier experiences. Perhaps feelings of sadness, anger, loneliness, rejection, or abandonment are affecting your confidence or your relationships. Whatever you're facing, you don't have to carry it alone.
As an Integrative Therapist, I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than following a single approach. I draw on psychodynamic therapy to explore how your past may influence the present, humanistic therapy to help you reconnect with your strengths and values, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to provide practical tools for managing life's challenges.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my warm, genuine, and down-to-earth approach. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work, creating a safe, compassionate space where you can speak openly without fear of judgement.
My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and compassion, helping you make sense of your experiences, build on your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.
