About me and my therapy practice
Hello!
Thank you for taking a moment to read this profile. I know it takes courage to share things with a stranger but feel free to call or message me, at the end of the call you can book a session, or perhaps have a think about it first.
What is counselling with me like?
My counselling sessions are safe, confidential spaces, where you are free to share what’s on your mind. We can deal with what arises, calmly exploring and developing your inner resources to bring you hope, meaning or healing. My approach is generally more experiential and exploratory than technique-led. While I may draw on practical tools where helpful, sessions often involve slowing down and paying attention to thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations and patterns as they arise in the present moment to help clients develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts, feelings and inner tensions.
What kind of person am I?
I’ve been described as kind, calm and down-to-earth. I often work through the lens of Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), which focuses on developing a different relationship to thoughts and feelings. I work with clients of all walks of life and am welcoming to clients from all backgrounds, gender, age, ethnicity, disability, belief or sexual orientation.
What is my background?
I began my career in military and later went into public service, including management and leadership roles covering areas such as mental health and youth. My path to counselling has been shaped by years of experience supporting others, including voluntary work with the NHS, Carers Support West Sussex, and Olive Tree Cancer Support.
