About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re just not coping the way you used to? Maybe something has happened that’s shaken your world, a loss, a relationship breaking down, a period of anxiety that won’t shift and you’re not sure how to move forward. Or perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on it, but something doesn’t feel right and you want to understand yourself better.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

I’m Carol, a registered therapist based in Birmingham. I offer warm, down-to-earth therapy for adults dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, stress, and life transitions. I work in person in Birmingham and online with clients anywhere in the UK.

Before training as a therapist, I spent many years as a marketing consultant and volunteered in various roles working with people navigating some of the most difficult, and painful periods of their lives. Those experiences gave me a real understanding of how people get stuck, and what it actually takes to move forward. I came to therapy work because I saw, up close, how much people can struggle in silence and in isolation.

Therapy with me is practical and collaborative. It’s not about being told what to do or having labels assigned. It’s about us working together to make sense of where you are, how you got here, and what a better way forward might look like for you. We go at your pace.

I can help with:

  • Anxiety and worry
  • Depression and low mood
  • Domestic violence
  • ADHD pre and post diagnostic support
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Stress and burnout
  • Redundancy and work pressures
  • Self-esteem and identity
  • Anger
  • Menopause
  • Andropause (male menopause)
  • Sexual identity
  • Family trauma

To get in touch, use the contact button and I’ll get back to you asap to arrange a free initial conversation, no commitment, just a chance to talk and see if we’re a good fit.

You can also find out more at www.carolcaveneytherapy.com.

Initial calls can be via zoom or telephone.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm Carol Caveney, a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered integrative therapist with over 6 years working with clients. I am currently training as a clinical supervisor at the Centre for Supervision Training & Development (CSTD Bath), studying for my Diploma of Supervision. As part of my placement, I am offering free individual clinical supervision to up to five counsellors or therapists, trainee or qualified.

My practice is overseen by an approved Supervisor of Supervision, and I work within the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and the UKCP Practice Guidelines for Supervision.

I aim to offer a supervision alliance that is professional, supportive and genuinely useful to your practice,  whether you are navigating complex client work, ethical dilemmas, or the day to day challenges of building your confidence or your work.

Supervision is currently offered at no costs.  Places are limited and available immediately.  I offer a free 30-minute introductory call so we can explore whether working together feels right. This can be booked via my website.
