About me and my therapy practice
I work in a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental way, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. My approach is integrative and person-centred, meaning I tailor therapy to the individual needs, experiences, and goals of each client rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including person-centred counselling, CBT-informed techniques, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed practice. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, grief, addiction-related issues, and emotional wellbeing challenges.
I believe in building a trusting therapeutic relationship that encourages self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to explore difficulties, identify strengths, and develop practical coping strategies that support emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
My practice is guided by strong ethical principles, confidentiality, professional boundaries, safeguarding awareness, and reflective practice in line with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive, inclusive, and respectful support to individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Practice description
I work using an integrative and person-centred approach, which means I tailor therapy to meet the unique needs of each client rather than following a fixed method. Depending on the issues being explored, I may draw from CBT-informed techniques, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed practice, and emotional wellbeing strategies to support growth and healing.
Clients can expect warmth, honesty, professionalism, and consistency from me throughout the counselling process. I will listen without judgement, support you in exploring difficult emotions and experiences, and help you develop greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, and emotional resilience. Together, we can work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, domestic abuse, addiction-related issues, and life transitions.
I believe therapy should feel collaborative and empowering. You will never be pressured to discuss anything before you are ready, and your voice and experiences will always be respected. My aim is to help clients feel more confident, emotionally supported, and better equipped to make positive changes in their lives.
My practice is guided by ethical principles, professional boundaries, safeguarding awareness, and confidentiality in line with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework. I welcome clients from diverse cultural, spiritual, and personal backgrounds and strive to provide an inclusive and compassionate therapeutic environment.
My first session
I just wanted to introduce myself before our first session together. My name is Betty, and I’m really looking forward to working with you.
Our sessions are a supportive space where we can explore your goals, challenges, and anything you’d like help with at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out before we begin — the first session is simply an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what you’d like to achieve.
If you have any questions before we meet, please feel free to reach out. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you form our session.
