About me and my therapy practice
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed or frustrated that life isn鈥檛 quite working the way you`d hoped?
Many of the people I work with are professionals in their 20`s, 30`s and 40`s who appear to be coping well on the surface but are struggling internally. They may be dealing with anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, burn out or a sense that they have lost direction. Others find themselves repeating patterns in relationships, work or life and want to understand why.
If this resonates with you then my counselling practise will offer you a space to step away from the noise of life and quietly discover what`s going on beneath the surface. Together we can explore the challenges you are facing, gain a deeper understanding of the patterns that may be holding you back and identify practical ways to move forward.
My approach is warm, positive and non-judgemental, but it is also focused on helping you with meaningful change. Working with a counsellor can help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and clarity.

Practice description
Many clients come to counselling because they want solutions, but often discover that lasting change begins with understanding themselves more fully. When we understand the origins of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours we are better equipped to make the choices and decisions that align with how we want to live.
Every person has the capacity for growth and change. My role is not to tell you what to do but to help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and find a way forward that feels authentic and sustainable. Often with this process, we can accept the parts of us we`ve usually always seen as undesirable but recognising ourselves as human is liberating in terms of self-esteem.
If you are looking for counselling for anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem issues or personal development then I offer a confidential space where you can talk without a 鈥渇ilter鈥 and work towards the changes you want to make.

Generally, your first session is about "finding you", this allows me to see who you are, to get a feel and understanding of what you are dealing with and the salient points of the issues at hand.
We`ll discuss what you are looking for in this new counselling experience and this will be our common goal.

Are you looking for counselling support with somebody you can relate to?
It`s important to be able to connect with your counsellor to enable good communication and trust, also to enjoy working together.
As a counsellor, I think it`s invaluable to have lived experience in my topic of work which is why I feel that I can offer a real understanding in helping you move forward into a better space.
Practice description
When looking for a counsellor it`s important to feel safe to talk about what you`re really struggling with. It takes courage to go out of your comfort zone and seek help so trust also is very important, a client will certainly be met with respect when choosing a potential counsellor so these are the important elements for a beneficial counselling relationship. You`ll know early in the conversation if you feel it`s right.
I think a counsellor with lived experience of mental health struggles also, will have a greater sense of empathy to help make sense of being stuck in a bad place. Low self esteem for example, is a base line for many conditions such as anxiety, depression or stress related issues. So, knowing that the combination of experience and expertise is at hand is really useful.
Speak to a number of potential counsellors for a sense of safety and trust and of course being understood and heard, early findings in the call will resonate and you`ll be happy to go ahead to meet.
As for me, I am certainly the counsellor who has struggled through the tough spots and has come out the other side. I have a natural ability to listen, understand and see the best in people, a passion for counselling and genuine interest in being with and helping people through difficult times.
