About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced systemic and integrative psychotherapist offering online therapy to adults and young people. I provide a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life and begin to make sense of difficult emotions, relationships and experiences.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed and tailored to each person. I draw on systemic family therapy, attachment theory, person-centred practice, narrative therapy, solution-focused approaches and selected CBT techniques. Rather than viewing difficulties in isolation, I consider how relationships, family experiences, culture, identity, faith, social circumstances and significant life events may influence your wellbeing.
I can support clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief and bereavement, trauma, relationship or family difficulties, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions and feelings of being overwhelmed or stuck. I also have experience supporting young people and adults who have experienced complex family relationships, care systems and significant emotional distress.
Our work will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. Together, we can explore patterns that may no longer be helpful, recognise your strengths and develop new ways of understanding yourself and responding to challenges.
I value difference and welcome clients from diverse cultural, racial, spiritual and family backgrounds. Where faith or spirituality is important to you, this can be included in therapy; equally, therapy can remain entirely non-religious.
Sessions are offered securely online during weekday daytime hours. You are welcome to contact me to discuss what you are looking for and whether I may be the right therapist for you.
Practice description
I offer confidential online therapy for adults and young people, providing a calm and supportive space to explore emotional, relational and life difficulties.
At the beginning of therapy, we will discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain and any concerns you may have about the process. We will agree how we might work together, including the frequency of sessions and areas you would like to focus on.
Sessions are collaborative rather than prescriptive. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and help you explore the experiences, relationships and patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing. You will not be pressured to discuss anything before you feel ready, and our work will progress at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
Therapy may involve making sense of past experiences, understanding present challenges, identifying personal and relational strengths, and developing more helpful ways of coping and communicating. Where appropriate, I may introduce reflective exercises, practical strategies or questions to explore between sessions.
My practice is inclusive and respectful of different cultures, identities, beliefs, relationships and family structures. Faith or spirituality can be included when this is meaningful to you, but it is never assumed or imposed.
Online sessions take place through a secure video platform. You will need a private space, a reliable internet connection and a suitable device. Sessions are usually arranged on a regular weekday basis and last approximately 50 minutes.
The first session gives us an opportunity to consider whether working together feels right for you. We will review the therapy as it progresses and can discuss endings openly when you feel ready.
My first session
I offer a free 15–25 minute consultation call before therapy begins. This gives you an opportunity to briefly share what has brought you to therapy, ask questions and consider whether I may be the right therapist for you.
If we decide to work together, we will arrange an initial onboarding session. During this session, we will discuss confidentiality, boundaries, practical arrangements, your expectations and what you would like support with.
The assessment process usually takes between one and three sessions, depending on your needs and circumstances. This allows us time to explore your current difficulties, important relationships, personal and family history, strengths, support systems and any risks or concerns that may need consideration.
Following the assessment, we will review our understanding together and agree an initial focus for therapy. I commonly work in blocks of six sessions, followed by a review to reflect on progress, identify what has been helpful and decide whether to continue, pause or bring therapy to an end.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy. The length of therapy is flexible and guided by your needs, goals and circumstances rather than a fixed expectation.
You are free to discuss ending therapy at any stage. Wherever possible, we will plan an ending session so that we can reflect on the work, acknowledge progress and consider how you will continue to support yourself after therapy.
