About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Fabiola, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Surrey and an Accredited Member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø.

Perhaps you’ve reached a point where things have become difficult to manage on your own. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low or stuck, or finding that something from the past is still affecting you in the present. Sometimes it can be difficult to even put into words what is wrong. Therapy can give you the space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing and begin to understand yourself in a different way.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is bringing you to counselling.

I have particular experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationship difficulties and significant life changes. My previous work has included supporting survivors of sexual violence and women affected by domestic abuse and I currently work within a specialist NHS trauma service. These experiences have shaped my approach and my understanding of how past experiences can continue to influence the way we feel, think and relate to ourselves and others.

I also have a particular interest in supporting people who feel different, overwhelmed or that they have spent a long time trying to fit themselves into expectations that don't feel right for them. I aim to create a space where you don't have to have everything figured out before you arrive.

I’m originally from Chile and moved to the UK as a teenager. I speak both English and Spanish and have a particular appreciation for the ways that culture, identity, family and life experiences can shape us.

I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy online. I also have training in EMDR and offer this on a limited basis for adults wanting support with a specific, single-incident trauma.

Practice description

I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs rather than expecting you to fit into one particular way of working. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is an important part of the work, so I will work collaboratively with you and at a pace that feels manageable.

Our work together can focus on understanding current challenges, exploring emotions, or reflecting on past experiences and patterns that may be influencing how you feel and respond today. The pace and focus of each session are guided by you, so we work in a way that feels right for your circumstances.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so I offer a free initial call where we can talk about what you're looking for and you can get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you. There is no pressure to decide straight away.

If you feel that you would like to explore working together, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to understand what has brought you to counselling.

We may talk about what is currently happening in your life, what you hope to gain from counselling and any questions or concerns you may have about the process.

It is also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable with me. Feeling safe and able to talk openly is an important part of the therapeutic relationship, so there is no pressure to commit straight away.

If we decide to continue working together, we can then think about how we would like to structure our sessions and what you would like to focus on moving forward.
