About me and my therapy practice

ADHD & Autistic Counsellor/Neuro-affirming & LGBTQ+ affirming therapy for burnout, masking, anxiety & identity

I specialise in supporting autistic and ADHD children, young people (8-18) and adults in a neuro-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming way. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious, or exhausted from years of masking, self-criticism, or trying to meet expectations that do not fit who they are.

Some people are exploring whether they may be neurodivergent, while others are adjusting to a diagnosis of ADHD or autism and trying to understand their identity, strengths, and challenges. Difficulties with anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationships, work, and education are common reasons people seek support.

Practice description

I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you do not need to mask, perform, or explain yourself to be understood. Therapy can help you make sense of your experiences, reduce self-criticism, and develop a more compassionate and accepting relationship with yourself.

Together, we can explore what is happening for you in a way that feels safe and grounded, and begin to identify strategies and understandings that fit with how your mind works rather than against it. This may include working with emotional regulation, self-esteem, processing past experiences, and finding ways of living that feel more sustainable and authentic.

I also support clients with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I work with children, young people (8-18) and adults.

My approach is relational and integrative, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models to suit your individual needs, with an emphasis on empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. The therapeutic relationship is central to my work, and I aim to provide a consistent and steady space where you feel heard, respected, and supported.

My first session

In your first session, we will begin by talking about what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to get support with. You do not need to prepare anything or know exactly what to say, and you can go at your own pace.

I will ask some gentle questions to help me understand your experiences, but you remain in control of what you choose to share. Many people find it helpful to talk about current challenges such as anxiety, burnout, overwhelm, masking, relationships, work, or identity.

There is no pressure to define your experiences or use labels such as ADHD or autism unless that feels helpful for you. Some clients are already diagnosed, some are exploring, and some are unsure; each is equally welcome.

The first session is also a chance for you to see how it feels to talk with me and whether you feel comfortable working together. You are not expected to commit beyond this session, and you can take time afterwards to decide whether you would like to continue.

By the end of the session, we will usually have a shared sense of what you would like to focus on in therapy and how we might work together going forward.
