About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, collaborative, and reflective space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic models to meet you where you are, rather than applying a single method.

At the core of my work is the person-centred approach, which values empathy, authenticity, and respect for your unique process. Alongside this, I incorporate insights from psychodynamic, Gestalt, solution-focused, and transpersonal perspectives. This allows us to look at both your present concerns and the deeper patterns that may be shaping how you feel and relate to others.

Therapy with me is a space for self-understanding, healing, and growth. We may focus on themes such as self-esteem, boundaries, relationships, trauma, anxiety, burnout, grief, or life transitions. Together, we explore not just what is difficult, but also your strengths, resilience, and capacity for change.

My intention is to help you reconnect with yourself — to make sense of your story, strengthen your inner resources, and move towards a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and meaningful.

I work with adults (18+) in both short-term and long-term therapy. Sessions are available in person in Harold Wood (East London) or online via secure video call.

Confidentiality, professionalism, and compassion are central to my practice. I work in accordance with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework and receive regular supervision to support the quality and integrity of my work.

I am a recognised provider for Bupa, AXA, Vitality, WPA and Aviva and I accept clients using these health insurance providers.

Practice description

My private practice, Leyvon Psychotherapy, offers a calm and supportive space for adults seeking to explore emotional challenges, improve self-awareness, and create meaningful change.

I work with individuals from all walks of life, and many clients come to me during periods of transition, uncertainty, or when they feel disconnected from themselves. Common themes include stress, anxiety, trauma, relationships, self-esteem, boundaries, loss, identity, and personal growth.

At Leyvon, my focus is on helping you feel heard, valued, and understood. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe and collaborative partnership — one where we explore not only what feels difficult, but also what helps you heal and thrive.

Sessions take place in person at my Harold Wood practice or online via secure video call, offering flexibility and accessibility. The therapy room is designed to create a sense of calm and reflection, allowing you to pause from daily pressures and focus on yourself.

My approach is integrative and person-centred, meaning I adapt my methods to your unique needs and pace. Together, we explore your experiences, patterns, and emotions to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and strengthen your sense of self.

I am an Accredited Psychotherapist (MÌÇÐĹÙÍø Accred) with over ten years of clinical experience, and I draw on my previous twenty-year background in education, management, and quality assurance to bring empathy, structure, and professionalism to my practice.

Therapy is an investment in yourself — a space for growth, understanding, and self-compassion. My aim is to support you in reconnecting with your authentic self and creating a life that feels more grounded, balanced, and aligned with who you truly are.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. It’s a gentle introduction — not a test or assessment — but rather a space for you to share your hopes, concerns, and what you’d like to gain from therapy.

I’ll ask some brief questions about your background, current situation, and any previous experience with counselling, so that I can understand how best to support you. We’ll also discuss what you’d like to focus on, and agree on a way of working that feels right for you.

The first session also gives you a sense of how I work, and whether you feel comfortable with my approach. It’s important that you feel safe, understood, and that therapy feels like the right fit for you. There’s no obligation to continue after this initial meeting — it’s a mutual space for reflection and choice.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are available in person at my Harold Wood practice or online via secure video call.

The fee for the initial session is the same as ongoing sessions (£60 per session), and I may offer a reduced rate for trainees or those on lower income — please feel free to enquire if this applies to you.

After the first session, if you decide to continue, we will agree on a regular day and time that works best for you, usually on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

My aim is to make the first session as relaxed and transparent as possible, so you can begin to get a feel for the therapeutic process and what it might offer you.

Availability

I currently have availability for clinical supervision and welcome enquiries from qualified counsellors, trainee counsellors and therapists seeking a reflective and supportive supervision space.

I offer supervision online and in person. My availability is mainly during weekdays, with some daytime and early evening appointments available. Frequency can be discussed depending on your stage of training, caseload, professional requirements and preferred way of working.

I aim to respond to enquiries within 2 working days. If I am away from practice or unavailable for a planned period of time, I will update this section where possible.

If you would like to explore whether we may be a good fit for supervision, you are welcome to contact me to arrange an initial conversation.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a reflective, relational and supportive supervision space for counsellors, trainee counsellors and therapists.

My approach is person-centred and integrative, with a transpersonal influence. I place importance on the supervisory relationship and aim to create a space where you can bring your client work openly, including uncertainty, ethical dilemmas, risk, boundaries, client material, relational dynamics and your own emotional responses to the work.

I work through an anti-oppressive lens, with attention to power, difference, identity, culture, privilege and the wider systems that shape both client work and the supervisory relationship. I believe supervision should support honest reflection, ethical awareness and accountability, while also recognising the humanity of both the client and the practitioner.

My style is warm, grounded and collaborative. I am interested in helping supervisees develop confidence in their own therapeutic voice, rather than offering rigid answers or telling them how to work. I may gently challenge where needed, but always with the intention of supporting deeper reflection, safe practice and professional growth.

Supervision with me may include exploring client work, therapeutic process, parallel process, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, private practice issues, placement concerns, professional identity and the impact of the work on you as a practitioner.

My aim is to offer supervision that feels thoughtful, containing and human. A space where you can feel supported, reflect more deeply and continue developing as an ethical, self-aware and confident practitioner.

Practice description

I offer clinical supervision to qualified counsellors, trainee counsellors and therapists seeking a reflective, supportive and grounded space to explore their client work.

My supervision practice is relational, person-centred and integrative, with a transpersonal influence. I place importance on building a supervisory relationship where you feel able to bring the full reality of the work, including uncertainty, ethical dilemmas, risk, boundaries, client material, relational dynamics and your own emotional responses.

I work through an anti-oppressive lens, paying attention to power, difference, culture, identity, privilege and the wider systems that shape both client work and the supervisory relationship. I see supervision as a space for reflection, accountability, learning and professional growth, rather than simply a place to report on client work.

You can expect me to be warm, thoughtful and collaborative. I aim to offer a space that feels containing and human, while also supporting safe, ethical and reflective practice. I may offer gentle challenge where helpful, particularly around patterns, boundaries, process, risk or ethical responsibility, but always with care and respect for your own developing therapeutic voice.

My background includes counselling and psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, online therapy, private practice, EAP work, and over 20 years in further and higher education, including quality assurance. This informs my understanding of professional standards, reflective learning and practitioner development.

Supervision may include exploring client work, safeguarding, trauma, abuse, private practice issues, placement concerns, parallel process, professional identity, confidence and the impact of the work on you as a practitioner.

My aim is to provide supervision that supports you to feel held, think deeply and continue developing as an ethical, self-aware and confident therapist.

My first session

I offer an initial conversation before beginning supervision, so that we can get a sense of whether we may be a good fit to work together.

This first meeting is a space for us to talk through what you are looking for from supervision, your stage of training or professional practice, the type of client work you are holding, and any placement, organisational or private practice requirements. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about how I work.

If we decide to continue, we will discuss the practical details of supervision, including frequency, session length, confidentiality, record keeping, ethical responsibilities, cancellation policy and any reporting requirements linked to training or placement.

I may ask you to complete a short supervision agreement or provide some basic information before we begin, so that the work is clear, ethical and professionally held from the start.

My intention is for the first session to feel calm, collaborative and supportive, with enough structure to help us begin the supervision relationship thoughtfully.
