About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø. I am passionate about supporting people through difficult periods in their lives and believe that with the right therapeutic support and relationship, people can develop greater self-understanding, emotional resilience and lasting change.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel difficult, particularly when someone has spent a long time coping alone or trying to manage overwhelming thoughts, feelings or experiences. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, understood and accepted at their own pace.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, stress and the long-term impact of difficult life experiences.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and personalised, meaning I adapt therapy to each individual’s needs, experiences and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship and the belief that meaningful change can happen when people feel emotionally safe, supported and able to explore their experiences openly.

My work is informed by trauma-aware and attachment-based approaches, recognising how early experiences, relationships and life events can shape emotional wellbeing, coping patterns and the way we relate to ourselves and others. Alongside emotional exploration, I also support clients in developing practical strategies for emotional regulation, self-compassion and healthier ways of coping.

I am committed to providing inclusive, respectful and ethically grounded therapy while working within the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework, maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries and ongoing professional development.

Practice description

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is integrative and collaborative, drawing on different therapeutic models to meet each client’s individual needs, experiences and goals.

My work is grounded in person-centred principles, offering a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental space where clients can safely explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I integrate attachment theory, psychodynamic and systemic perspectives, recognising how early relationships, past experiences and wider family or social systems can influence emotional wellbeing and relational patterns.

Alongside this, I incorporate approaches from CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional awareness, self-compassion and practical coping strategies.

My work is also informed by parts-based approaches, helping clients understand different emotional parts of themselves with curiosity and compassion.

Depending on each client’s needs, I may also integrate mindfulness, grounding techniques, creative approaches, hypnotherapy, NLP-informed techniques, relaxation strategies and Motivational Interviewing to support emotional regulation and meaningful change.

Alongside private practice, I have extensive experience working in secondary schools, supporting adolescents with anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, neurodiversity, low self-esteem, self-harm, bereavement and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).

I have also worked within adoption support services and court-appointed mother and baby assessment settings, supporting individuals and families experiencing complex relational and emotional difficulties. This has strengthened my understanding of attachment, trauma, parenting capacity and the impact of early life experiences.

This flexible and personalised approach allows therapy to adapt to the individual, supporting greater self-understanding, resilience and healthier relationships.
