About me and my therapy practice

Grief can change more than what you鈥檝e lost. It can change how you see yourself, your relationships, and the life you imagined. Whether you鈥檙e living with bereavement, the end of a relationship, divorce, an empty nest, or a major life or career transition, you may feel as though life no longer fits in the way it once did.

On the outside, life carries on, but inside you may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. You might replay conversations, question yourself, feel emotions you weren鈥檛 expecting, or wonder why everyone else seems to be coping better than you.

I specialise in grief counselling for adults experiencing all forms of loss. Together, we鈥檒l make sense of what鈥檚 happened and how it鈥檚 affecting you now. Rather than trying to 鈥渕ove on鈥 or leave your grief behind, therapy offers a space to understand your grief, carry it differently, and reconnect with yourself at your own pace.

My specialist experience in bereavement counselling, together with my own understanding of loss, has shown me that grief doesn鈥檛 disappear鈥攊t changes. Over time, many people find the pain becomes less overwhelming, they begin to feel more like themselves again, and life starts to hold meaning alongside what has been lost.

Whatever you鈥檝e lost, you may also feel as though you鈥檝e lost the person you used to be. Together, we鈥檒l work towards helping you find yourself again after life has changed in ways you never expected.

Practice description

Practice Description

Counselling doesn鈥檛 have to feel clinical or intimidating. It can simply be a place where you don鈥檛 have to pretend you鈥檙e coping. Whether you鈥檙e feeling angry, numb, anxious, tearful, relieved, or completely lost, you鈥檙e welcome exactly as you are.

Many clients tell me it feels like talking to someone who genuinely understands what grief can do鈥攏ot only after bereavement, but after any significant loss that changes your sense of who you are.

My specialist experience includes working within bereavement services at St Barnabas Hospice, supporting people through grief and life-changing loss. Today, I work with adults experiencing bereavement, relationship breakdown and divorce, empty nest, life and career transitions, and the loss of identity or purpose.

My approach is person-centred and grief-informed, meaning therapy moves at your pace while helping you make sense of your experience. Where it feels helpful, I may draw on creative approaches such as imagery or writing, alongside exploring deeper patterns, identity, and the parts of ourselves that grief often uncovers.

People often contact me because they:

* feel angry or resentful that life has carried on for everyone else while they are still struggling

* feel anxious they鈥檒l burst into tears in the supermarket, at work, or in front of other people

* feel guilty for laughing or enjoying life again

* replay conversations or wonder if they could have done something differently

* feel emotions they weren鈥檛 expecting, including anger, resentment or guilt, and worry what that says about them

* don鈥檛 recognise themselves anymore

* long for somewhere they can be completely honest without fear of being judged

Whatever your loss looks like, you don鈥檛 have to make sense of it alone. Therapy offers a compassionate space to explore what you鈥檙e carrying, helping you understand your grief, reconnect with yourself, and find steadier ground without losing what matters most.

My first session

Please note I work online or via phone.

I offer a free 30-minute introductory call. Think of it as a no-pressure space to see if we鈥檙e the right fit. A chance for me to hear what matters most to you and for you to get a feel for how I work.

What makes this different from a standard 鈥渋ntake鈥 is that this is not all tick-boxes or a questionnaire. I also listen, reflect, and help you start naming what you want from therapy. That clarity alone can sometimes feel like a weight off. Clients often leave this first chat saying, 鈥淚 already feel lighter.鈥

Some clients find it useful if I suggest simple tools from the start 鈥 maybe a journaling prompt, reflection exercise, or small shift they can try out between sessions. Others simply use this time to talk through what鈥檚 been weighing on them.

So, if you鈥檙e ready to take the first step, I welcome a call.
