About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Daisy.

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and I have always had a deep curiosity in what it is to be human, and a real belief in the possibility of change.  I am passionate about authenticity and finding ways to support myself and others to live life from our full and true selves. I work with all age ranges and have particular experience with working with young adults.

I am a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø registered psychotherapeutic counsellor with a diploma in humanistic and integrative counselling from The Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. (BCPC) Alongside my original training, I am committed to ongoing CPD including have carried out CPD trainings in Taking Therapy Outdoors, Equine Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Autism and ADHD trainings and more.

Practice description

The humanistic roots of my training means that my work is grounded in the belief that you are an expert on your own life, and that you have within you the capacity to move towards positive change. The Integrative element of my training means that I can draw on a range of approaches to suit your needs. We may look at early life and past experiences, and how they continue to impact you and your ways of being.  We may draw on creative and body focused approaches, the natural world and eco therapy approaches, mindfulness or breath work. And I am looking to begin incorporating animals into my practice in the future so please do let me know if this is of interest.

As an integrative counsellor, I like the way that I can be dynamic and flexible in my approach. For me, counselling is about sensitively responding to what you bring and working in a way that feels most helpful for you in your movement towards living life from your true and full self. You can expect me to be warm, honest, sensitive and gently challenging in the counselling relationship as we explore what has brought you to counselling together.

My first session

Finding a counsellor can feel daunting and confusing, and it is important to find someone who feels right for you.

I offer a free 10 minute call, which gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have before arranging a first session. You are also welcome to book an initial session straight away, and we can take it from there.

The first session will be an assessment session in the therapy hut. I will ask more questions than I usually would, as we explore what has brought you to counselling. We will look at your past and present experiences, as well as your hopes, goals or wishes for counselling.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about counselling, and for us to go through the counselling contract and framework together.

After the assessment session, we can both reflect on how it felt to work together and decide whether we would like to continue. We can also consider whether short term counselling or longer term, open ended work feels most helpful for you.

We can work in different ways depending on your needs and preferences, and during our first few sessions we can discuss and choose the approach that feels most suited to you. This may include working inside in the therapy hut, in the surrounding fields, walking and talking on the open moorland, or using a combination of these settings.

Occasionally, it may feel that I am not the right counsellor for you at this time. If this is the case, I will be happy to signpost you to other therapists or approaches that may be more suitable in terms of specialism, availability or experience.
