About me and my therapy practice

Life can change in ways we never expected. Whether you're adjusting to life after cancer treatment, supporting someone you love through illness, living with anxiety or burnout, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, you don't have to face it alone.

I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can talk openly without fear of judgement. Together we can explore your experiences, make sense of difficult emotions and help you move towards a life that feels more balanced, meaningful and authentic.

While I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, I have a particular interest in supporting people after cancer treatment, those living with the long-term emotional impact of cancer, carers, partners and family members. The end of treatment is often expected to feel like a relief, yet many people describe feeling anxious, uncertain, isolated or as though they have lost part of themselves. Therapy offers an opportunity to process these experiences and rebuild confidence for the future.

I also work with clients experiencing:

* Anxiety and excessive worry

* Stress and burnout

* Bereavement and loss

* Life transitions and identity changes

* Relationship difficulties

* Workplace stress

* ADHD and autistic characteristics

* Men's emotional wellbeing

Before becoming a counsellor I spent many years in senior leadership within business. This experience gives me a genuine understanding of the pressures that can come with demanding careers, caring responsibilities, major life changes and balancing the expectations we place upon ourselves. I appreciate how easily we can lose sight of our own wellbeing whilst looking after everyone else.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful change. If you're wondering whether counselling is right for you, I welcome an initial conversation to answer any questions and help you decide whether we're a good fit.

Practice description

Lighthouse Counselling offers compassionate, professional counselling for adults seeking support through life's challenges, changes and emotional difficulties.

Alongside supporting clients experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties and life transitions, I have a particular interest in working with people affected by cancer. This includes those living with a cancer diagnosis, individuals adjusting to life after treatment, people experiencing fear of recurrence, carers, partners and family members. The emotional impact of cancer often continues long after treatment has finished, and counselling can provide a safe space to process these experiences and rediscover a sense of confidence and purpose.

I also work with clients experiencing workplace stress, burnout, low self-esteem, identity changes, ADHD and autistic characteristics, and the pressures of balancing careers, family life and caring responsibilities.

My approach is primarily person-centred, meaning our work is led by what matters most to you. I believe that when people feel genuinely accepted, listened to and understood, they are better able to access their own strengths and create meaningful, lasting change. Where appropriate, I integrate psychoeducation and practical coping strategies to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

Whether you are looking for short-term support to navigate a particular issue or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, I offer a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship tailored to your individual needs.

At Lighthouse Counselling, I believe that no one should have to face life's challenges alone. Whatever has brought you here, you will be welcomed with warmth, respect and empathy as we work together towards hope, healing and lasting emotional wellbeing.
